Certifying documents for visa

Hoping someone can give me a bit of advice...when I was contacted by co they asked for a copy of my husbands army discharge papers and it stated they were to be certified unfortunately we cannot find them have looked high and low so we got the army records office to send out the information as they can not replace the originals. The letter just gives details of enlistment and discharge. My question is would this need to be certified as it's not original discharge paperwork!

I'm getting myself in a tiz wanting to make sure there is no reason for co to ask for further information which would then result in a longer wait.

Would really appreciate some advice!

Thanks

It's an "original" document in that it isn't a photocopy which could have been altered whilst being copied. If it still shows all the relevant data then it should be good enough.

If your CO has asked for it to be certified then there is no reason not to do that.
