Aussie Hopeful
Hi all, would love some advice/opinions on what Parkdale offers as a suburb. We are ping ponging back from the UK in January and looking at possible suburbs to settle. When we previously lived in Melbourne we lived in Highett and really enjoyed the area. Particularly because of its proximity to the beach, shops and other great suburbs. We are a young family of 4 (kids 4&1) and put son will be attending school in Keysborough so we're looking at possible suburbs. I was just wondering if anyone can give their views and opinions on Parkdale as a suburb or even other surrounding suburbs. We have looked at liveability takings but it varies greatly depending on which ranking list you look at. Advice would und be much appreciated. Petkula73
Beautiful beaches and relatively easy to get in to town, but personally I think it's a bit characterless. Depends on what you like and what your budget is really.
Petals
If your son is going to school in Keysborough then I would look at Dingly Village, Aspendale Gardens, Aspendale, Edithvale, Chelsea. Also Chelsea Heights, and Patterson Lakes. I like Parkdale but only the beach side of Nepean Highway.
Baysider
I live in Mentone which is next to Parkdale. Lots of people want to live beachside of the highway, prices reflect that. If you were in Highett before then you will just be the other side to lots of the things you were close to before. It's just a case of how close to the beach you go and what your budget allows. Good luck!
buzzy--bee
Hi all, would love some advice/opinions on what Parkdale offers as a suburb. We've lived in Parkdale for 9 years. Our address is actually Mordialloc but we are right on the border so our kids go to school in Parkdale, most of our friends live there and we shop there. It is a fantastic suburb for families with an incredible number of facilities, great primary and secondary schools, community centre, swimming pool, beaches etc etc etc. It is getting very pricey though. Nowadays you don't get much change out of $1 million for a family home. BB
