Time taken to get a work sponsored visa - quick replies appreciated

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Assuming a company/state/national government institution is in a position to sponsor a visa (temp or perm); how long would it take to get one?

This would be a recognised international expert in field, post grad qualifications, solvent and well funded, aged under 40 with young family.

Could the turn around be quite quick? say a month or two?

Many thanks...

Temporary 457 visa's might be obtainable in a month or two provided all the conditions are met and everything is more or less straightforward.

Permanent residency visas would likely take somewhat longer.

That's about as much as I could suggest from the info provided.

From agreeing everything with my employer, to starting to gather all the info for the paperwork, to submitting the application and then waiting, just waiting...... My whole ens186 application was the best part of a year.

Others have probably managed it in a shorter timeframe.
