matatyahu
Hello, I have asked this question elsewhere but did not receive an adequate response. Here it is: I am soon coming to Australia on a student visa and will become eligible to apply for permanent residency via the Skilled Migration program. When filling form 80, should I disclose my employment teaching English in Vietnam without a work permit? The legal situation here is very convoluted and fluid. I have been here on a business visa, extended several times, which allows one to work or so they say (no one knows for sure, not even the locals). It has, however, recently expired and it has become impossible to get a new one thus I need to decide whether to continue working on a tourist visa. There is absolutely no risk of trouble here from the authorities for doing so. Does this present a problem when filling out form 80? Thanks a million! happyfeet90
as you have said , you worked when you had a valid visa so in my opinion your experience might get accepted but you never know what your case officer decides.. i would emphasize you in getting a proper advise from a certified mara agent in your country and he can help you best. You should answer EVERY question honestly including the one that asks if you have ever overstayed on a visa.
matatyahu
Thanks for the replies. Happyfeet90: I will not claim any points for that work experience. I am nominating another profession. It is just a question of declaring my employment history accurately. Ozmaniac: I have not overstayed a visa here. I would not lie or conceal the truth in any way. I merely want to find out what the consequences of my working here without a work permit are in relation to the PR application.
