Conducts tests of electronic systems, collects and analyses data, and assembles circuitry in support of Electronics Engineers and Engineering Technologists. Registration or licensing may be required.

  • Aircraft Electronics Technical Officer
  • Communications Engineering Technical Officer
  • Communications Engineering Technician
  • Digital Controls Technical Officer
  • Flight Surveyor
  • Printed Circuit Board Designer
  • Process Control Technician
  • Telemetry Technician

My details are,

Qualification: 2 years BSc. (physics. mathematics) then 2 years MSc applied physics (electronics)

Experience: 8 years as a printed circuit board designer

My query is:

1-with my qualification and experience. do i am going for right category.

2- do i require any registration or licence.

3- if yes, then what type of registration or licence.

One of my relative got TRA skill assessment refused . he applied in same category (312412) with reason that your qualification is not related to category description as per ANZSCO.

confused....

Don't know much about TRA but you can try as an Electronic Engineering Draftsperson with Engineers Australia if you are involved in other aspects like testing, helping with research, production QA etc? Try contacting EA, they are pretty prompt with replies.

Both codes 312411 and 31422 are only in CSOL, which means you need state sponsorship so have to look into that as well.

As far as I know you don't need any special licensing for generic electronics design. Good luck.
