SamnRabb
Does anyone know if we have been granted a 489 skilled state sponsored visa if we are allowed to enter Australia in a different state and visit family for a few weeks before heading to the state that sponsored us? Have tried to find a contact number to get advised on immi.gov website with no luck!! Also it mentions on our visa that we can work/live in regional Australia, does this mean we don't have to stay in the state that sponsored us? Any help would be appreciated
lebourvellec
You can enter Australia at any state, you have to live and work in reginal Australia, but visiting family for a week or 2 after visa is granted should be ok. There is no condition on your visa that you must live in the sponsoring state, you can live in any of the regional areas to be eligible for 887, also it doesn't have to be the primary applicant from the 489 to be primary applicant for the 887, the secondary applicant from 489 can be primary applicant for 887 if they meet the requirements and the original primary for the 489 can be the secondary applicant for 887.
