smartmart07
Hi, Can anyone advise please. I receive a UK pension from my previous employer, which is paid into my UK bank account. I will actually be using this to supplement my living costs here in Sydney. Would I be better off having my previous employer pay it into my Australian bank or continue to have paid into my UK one and then drawing it out from there? Many thanks in advance. MARYROSE02
If there are no transfer charges each time the money goes into your Aussie bank account, that might be an advantage. I chose to pay my Royal Mail pension into my UK bank account, and then I transfer it each month, together with my other UK income from rent, to my Aussie account, which costs me 25 GBP each time I do it. If I was working I probably would just leave the money in my UK account, but at the moment I need the income here. I have been meaning to contact Royal Mail Pensions and find out if there would be any charges if they pay the money into my Aussie account.
