I started a new threat on 457 nomination processing times as here people have their nominations mostly approved and just waiting for the application to go through. Maybe we can get some feedback in my other threat about the nomination process times..

Almost time to start a new work day in Australia.. Woohoo, fingers crossed!

Lol..yeah fingers crossed!! I will check out your new thread..All the best :)

Hi all,

just want to know time frame for employer nomination approval ?

457 visa ..

Nomination submitted: 22 Dec 2015 -

Application submitted: 22 Dec2015 - Current status "Application received"

Something between 4-8 weeks if all goes smooth (no further documents needed etc). Last week a few in the forum got their visas who applied November/ early December. Some lucky ones get theirs also really fast.

My partner and I have also been waiting a long time for a 457 grant. We lodged via an agent and the nomination was approved in Sept 2015 but we are still waiting for the visa grant. No reason for the delay from immi or our agent. We are from a low risk country and our application was lodged decision ready. It's very frustrating. We do wonder if the delay has anything to do with already having a different visa enabling us to work here and if the 457 will be granted when the current visa expires. Who knows. We were told by our migration agent it would take 28 days, in hindsight we should be just lodged for pr instead.

Lodged decision ready application (low risk country) in July 2015 whilst in Oz on a student visa. Sponsorship and nomination approved Sept 2015. Still waiting for grant. Very frustrating.

I guess you can lodge an enquiry with immi. Their processing times on the website suggest that it will only take 2-3 months and you can mention that. This made me a bit nervous, I'm on the same situation. My student visa expires next year and I don't want to continue my studies anymore. I want to start working full time. Nomination lodged December 2015, Visa lodged January 2016.

Does anyone know how to contact immi from offshore? I'm 2 months waiting now so I thought of getting in touch with immi to ask for information on the progress of my application but I can't find any contact information (email or phone) for people from outside Australia.

My nomination was rejected due to small size of the business. Anyone knows a good MA for such a case if I want to reapply for the nomination? Mine I guess wasn't good enough to have not suggested a stronger application in the first go. Please help!

Has your employer sponsored before? I guess what you can do is make an appeal to the tribunal to reconsider the nomination/sponsorship. The process is also on immi website. I don't know how long will it take though. Alternatively, you can look for a new employer. That's just my opinion. How long did your nomination change the status from "Application Received to In process then Finalised?" Thanks

Yes they have sponsored before about 2 years back for a different position which was successful. Mine is marketing specialist which was refused due to the size. Tribunal I have been told takes too long which is a minimum of 6 months to a year and can go up to 2 years also. Not a feasible option. Can only look at reapplying if at all can find a good MA for this. My application was lodged on 7th Dec'15 and answer came on 25th Jan'16..

I can't suggest my current MA cause I myself don't have an approval yet. But I heard some of my friends came through AJ Harris and Associates and was granted both nomination and visa. But also try to look for other options online those with good feedback.
