Aideen
Hi everyone, Apologies re same title again and again. We are moving to Toronto NSW in July. We are only going for 2-3 yrs max. We have some nice furniture, 4 piece suite, bed, mattress, crockery, bed linen, etc and are definitely shipping some stuff (clothes, kids toys, cot, bikes etc) but are wondering if its worth our while shipping the furniture as we're only going short term. The thing is we'll probably ship a container home as we will have to buy a lot of furniture over there. We rent here so could survive with the furniture that came with the rental for the few months in between. From posts Ive read, any furniture is better than none when heading out. The fact we are shipping some stuff (and its good stuff) Im tempted to ship it out. I think Id like to have some familiar things to start with! Any advice appreciated. scuffythetugboat
Keep it and send it. The alternative is to either sell it or store it. When it comes to selling and you have a deadline you will end up giving most of it away. Storage in the UK is expensive so over 2-3 years you would be spending many thousands of pounds, money you could spend on shipping.
