Looking for things to do with young children in Cairns....

Hi, we moved to Cairns three weeks ago with our two children ( 3 + 2 ) and wondered if anyone can recommend any toddler / preschool groups where the kids can meet new friends and so can mum.

Hi and welcome to Cairns. We have been here for about a year now but our children are now adults!

Cairns is quite spread out as you will have found, where are you staying at the moment?

The Cairns post ( newspaper ) has a list of weekly activities printed on a Monday, also the freebie Sun paper which comes out each week. Think there is a Cairns mums facebook page?

Apart from that it would be the usual things -library,local shops etc for info. People are generally very helpful here.

Lots of families using the play areas along the esplanade.

Hope someone can give you a bit more information.

Hi , thanks for the reply. I will definitely get the local paper tomorrow to see what's on.

We are finding things to do already and it seems like there's actually a lot more activities for children here than back at home. I'm just missing my other mummy friends at the moment but I know these things take time.

We are staying pretty central and have a car so managing to get around easily enough.
