Leorio
Hey guys, in the form 1263 (to get the second WHV) it is written that: work undertaken in the mining and construction sectors must appear in the Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC) division for these sectors to meet the specified work requirement. What exactly does this mean? If I find a job in a regional area as general construction labourer, how do I know that it will qualify for my visa renewal? Britpop
Look here and click on the visa applicants tab for a full description of what counts http://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/417.aspx
Leorio
Tank you mate! Much more info on this webpage than on the form 1263! Don't know why I didn't look there before. But I still can't figure out if a job as a simple construction laborer will qualify for a second WHV. :-(
Britpop
I know plenty of people who have got the second year after doing construction labouring - what they called themselves on their forms I can't say for 100% but half of Darwin is lads labouring for their 2nd year. Britpop
Remember that all of SA and NT count for regional. If you're based in one of these, you can look at all types of qualifying work as we found it harder to find construction work in 'regional' areas. If you're in adelaide for instance then you have the option of farm work of labouring good luck! oh, and if you're worried still, Peter Pans can give you advice about what counts if your say booking your bus ticket with them
