mehman
Hello, My wife and I plan to move to Sydney around mid December and are on the lookout for a short term rental in the city. 2-3 months would be ideal. Ideally close to the CBD, but thats not a deal breaker. Any ideas how we can go about looking for one? AirBnB seems very costly. Cheers, M
CaptainR
We used AirBNB and paid £2500 for a 6 week rental in Dulwich Hill, a beautiful 2 bedroom townhouse. We now have our long term rental (ended up paying 6 months in advance to secure that).
mehman
Ah Ok, so AirBnB rates seem pretty similar...
CaptainR
Sydney isn't cheap. I am working offshore NW Australia and all the guys at work think I'm mad living in Sydney (we actually have moved to the outer suburbs but it's still pricy).
themod53
We've also been looking at rental prices, I guess it's all comparitive, location, etc... However, it actually looks slighty cheaper in Sydney for a like for like rental with a comparitive loction / proximity to the city. $600 to $700 a week for a 2 bed with a yard and 5 mins from the beach. Compared with £390 a week for a one bed shoe box with a view of a garden in Putney zone 2.
