190 application already living in Oz query

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I have a query in relation to applying from inside Oz (Tassie) for a 190 visa. I have lodged my application and I am starting to upload my docs. We are currently on a 457 which was granted in June last year but decided to change to the 190 for more stability.

I was wondering whether to go ahead and get the health checks now (Only lodged application one week ago and CO not yet assigned). Or should I wait till the case officer is assigned and then go ahead and get them when/if they are requested. The same goes for the Australian police check. I notice that the status of all required docs is 'recommended' rather than required. Are these items they will definitely require given that we are already living here and it was less than a year ago our last visa was granted?

Thoughts people? I know people on this forum seem to know all of the ins and outs of visa application so thought I would check on here first before going ahead and spending the money on getting medical and police check docs.

Thanks in advance all.

Emma

I'd go ahead and get them completed now. If you log onto your immiaccount there should be a link that says 'Complete medical examinations for this person' under each applicant, follow the instructions, get your health referral letters and book the appointments.

The 'recommended' document list is a load of nonsense that causes more confusion than it's meant to solve, it's in no way definitive. You'll need to research what's required to be uploaded for your particular application.
