Hi I recently had a holiday to Australia ad I really want to make the move next year. Can I start my application before I have any money? I need to save up to pay for my visas but I want to get the ball rolling, how long is the process and Also how much would I be looking at to migrate myself and my girlfriend on a skilled visa as I am an electrician.

feedback would be much appreciated thankyou

You and gf for just visa would b approx £3280 currently...then skills assesment cost..ielts to test ur english if u need it for points...medicals will cost you too..and police checks..you could see about sending off for your skills assessment now..or doing ielts now n then your making a start but they are only valid for certain time...me and my husband had £4000 to move wth after paying for flights etc and that was plenty for us to get started here but I had a job to come to

In my case (RSMS, 2 years ago), when they sent me the lodge notification e-mail, they taken money from my credit card. It was about 2 nights after lodged.

When I saw people's timeline on their comment, money taken time was vary, however, if you can't afford the payment, of course your application won't be accepted.

you should possess the visa fee at least. Medical or other cost can be later.

For both..you need to spend out quite a bit of money before you get to the paying visa stage though..we came on a work sponsored visa first..took a few weeks n now we are applying for 189..should take few weeks from lodging apllication..but my skills assesment took 16 weeks..n i needed three attempts at ielts...so everything takes a bit of time..it will be hard for you to get a job before you arrive..more chance when u are actually there..n you may need to take a job other than what you are skilled in
