Guest dazla
Hi all I`m considering a move to Sydney and hope to rent out my UK home. The problem is the rent I would receive on my UK home will not be enough to cover my mortgage, I will be about £200.00 short. I've been reading about the LAHA, would this be enough to cover the shortfall in the rent for ny UK home. I don`t really want to sell it. Thanks Dazla

Guest dazla
David The LAHA is a 'Living away from home allowance'. Its granted to you as an employee by your Aussie employer as long as your primary country of residence is the UK, or your home country. Its a non-taxable amount of your monthly salary. I`ve been told that it can be worth quite a bit, but would like to know if there are any other brits who have received this allowance and how much was it actually worth to them.
