hi we have been in brassy for about 5 months so done the major attractions and beaches around so are looking for the less touristy places to visit, we are yet to see a waterfall where we can swim so something like that or flooded quarries or any lakes safe to swim would be great, also any good mountain trails, we really like the look of the mountains on the way to australia zoo.

We went to Kondalilla Falls National Park yesterday with some friends, with the intention of swimming under the waterfall there. Sadly with the dry conditions in QLD at the moment, the waterfall was a merely a trickle of water. That said, we did go swimming in the rock pool that was at the top of the waterfall. This looked to be a popular attraction for many. Beware though, it's very deep (cannot touch the bottom anywhere) and the submerged rocks near the edge are very slippery, which makes getting out tough.

We'd be interested to hear others suggestions too.

Hope over the boarder into NSW and climb Mt Warning, beautiful but you needs to be quite fit. It has paths all the way up so not suggesting actual "rock climbing" You could also also go down to Stanthorpe lovely little town nice wineries around Stanthorp, and depending on time of year you can pick your own fruit at some of the fruit farms.
