davidtiffen
Hi was wondering if any problems with UK Television's working in Australia. Looking to ship a HD Ready TV, I know that you need Foxtel but wanted to be sure that plug would work and power TV. Thanks
RAS
You will need to change the plug or get an adaptor. You will also need a digital box ( cheap ) or Foxtel as you say. We took ours with no problems. RAS
Gidza
I have read somewhere that UK TVs dont work in Oz. Is that true. Am just pondering whether to buy a new TV as our old one is in need of replacing but am worried I might buy a new one and find it doesn't work when we get there. Same for the DVD player as OZ dvds are produced for a different region to UK and Europe's so that means I might not be able to play OZ dvds but can play any I take with me from here
RAS
Gidza, the TV will work if you change the plug and get a set top box or satellite. Somebody on anther thread has said if you tune the TV, depending on make, to German frequency it will work. If the TV needs replacing why not get one in Australia. Some DVD players are multi regional so should play all or most DVDs, we took ours but bought another one while in Australia. RAS.
Gidza
RAS, thanks very much for that useful information. Will probably hold on until we move before replacing the TV.
