LGannon Posted October 27, 2013 Share Posted October 27, 2013 Hi guys Im currently looking at flights to Sydney for the end of March 2014. I am looking to take 3 suitcases with me. Can anyone recomend a reasonable airline with low additional costs for extra baggage. British airways want £1300 one way but cheaper to book return. Excess baggage reasonable. Quantas baggage costs are crazy since their merge with emirates. China Eastern Airlines.... never used them before. One way £450 and you get 2 bags and additional 1st bag about £100. DanziM Posted October 27, 2013 Share Posted October 27, 2013 Nothing wrong with them at all, and actually Chinese airlines have all recently improved their fleet and have extremely low overheads at their home base, hence cheaper travel for you. Id even sneek an extra bag aswell if your bringing your life. Will be cheaper than shipping it the old fashioned way. Also currently there arent any cheaper options. I doubt you'll find any airline flying west to Aus that will let you fly 3 checked bags in economy and not charge you through the nose for it. Generally it's one checked bag to either 20 , 23 or 30kg depending on who you fly with. Emirates offer 30kg as standard. Best airline allowance out there but their excess will cost.
