Hellabella Posted October 19, 2013 Share Posted October 19, 2013 Hi, I moved to Melbourne (Doncaster) with my husband and little boy just over a month ago. So far I love the place but I'm really struggling to meet people which I think is making me feel a little home sick. My neighbours are all Chinese and despite me introducing myself, don't socialise outside their network. Myself and Neil would live to meet families and couples and make some good friends. Obviously you posted this in October, so hopefully you've made loads of friends by now and you are nicely settled, but we would also like to make friends when we arrive so perhaps we could meet up. We moved form North Wales to australia last November and finally to Melbourne 3 weeks ago. Im Vicky & hubby is Tony both 32. We have two children Noah 4 and Daisy 2. We live in Wantirna South which is 15 min away from you. How long have you been in Australia? We would love to make friends so if you fancy meeting up thats great. We have made friends by going to a great open mic/social club (we are a family band) at The Green Table in Dandenong which is on every Friday night. The Aussies (and other nationalities) there are great and it is all family friendly if you looking to socialise. We have been in Melbourne since July 2013 and previous to that Canberra for 18 months so are used to Aussie life now. Send me a message if you want to get in touch. Our son is 18 so that isn't much help but I am quite happy to chat. We don't know any other Brits but having a hobby really helps in meeting people. We have been here for 5 1/2 years & absolutely love it! You have picked the best place to live-it's so easy to get anywhere. Both myself & my hubby both went to Prestatyn High & our Dr's was central surgery. We should meet up for coffee sometime at Knox and have a good old chat How are you finding it here? kzzam Posted March 18, 2014 Share Posted March 18, 2014 Hi everyone, my family and I arrived in Melbourne city at the end of January. We moved to Mornington about 4 weeks ago and my two girls, aged 12 and 8, are settled in school now. My OH has secured himself a job but so far i havent been able to get one. Im feeling a little left out as they are all making friends and i am struggling a little. I would love to meet up with anyone locally for a chat. We are originally from Lichfield, Staffs and im 38 and my OH is 39. Let me know if anyone wants to meet up or if you hear of any get togethers that might be happening that we could gate crash :cute:.
