cjbchris
Has anyone flown on Malaysian airlines with a musical instrument?? I'll be flying over with my Banjo, which is in a hard case 99cm long and weighing 9kg in total... What's my chances of getting it on the aircraft in the cabin, rather than as hold luggage??? Thanks Chris
Guest
Check the airlines website re their policy on that stuff. They are usually specific.

Guest guest41161
You have almost no chance of getting this onboard (wife is airline staff and they refuse often). Personally I would, and did ship my guitars in the container. Even in a hard case I have heard some horror stories. Ground handlers don't give a crap about the contents and a neck is too easily broken with little movement. At least in the container you can pack correctly, and double insulate the hard case. I am happy to advise how I packed my gear, and both instruments arrived with not a single mark on them or their cases.
