Thistle13
Previously, to take your dog to Uk from Oz, it needed to have a rabies vaccination, then 30days later a blood test, and if that came back with the result that your dog was resistant to the virus than you had to wait 6 months before travelling. Therefore preparation needed to start 7months before departure. Now the rules relating to rabies vaccination have changed. All that is required is a rabies vaccine, and the dog is good to go after 21 days. Check http://www.defra.gov.uk.
MrsLZB
We have just received a photo and text from our dog who has arrived safely at Heathrow after his adventure. Can't wait to see him in a week. And yes we had his rabies vacc done a couple of months ago and that was it for the pet passport. (Oz to UK). It's still a long process coming back this way, not that we plan on doing that anytime soon!!!
