Dogs Heading to Australia, The heat and quarantine

I am sure that many of you have done a lot of quarantine research, but this might also help.

While Australia has not had a mass of hot days yet, we are heading into some of the warmest months of the year. While Sydney can often be hot, it is often more the humidity that can be an issue. Next hottest feel would be Perth, then Melbourne, that can have both hot dry and humid heat.

Your dogs will be exercised in the yards only on safe days (that are not too hot) and I know that Melbourne at least has a great overhead sprinkler system that they use to keep the dogs cool in their pens.

I have also noticed that Melbourne has a very restrictive visiting schedule over the Xmas holiday break, so we can expect some very crowded exercise yards during that time ..

All the best to our (owners and dogs and cats) soon to be residents.
