I'm currently back in the UK my first year visa runs out at the end of November and i would like to return to Australia after new year. Does anyone know if i have to cancel my first year visa in order to apply for the second and how long roughly they take to be granted when out of the country? A very interesting question that is above the scope of my knowledge, but there are Migration advisors who are members here and hopefully one will see this thread and give you a pointer.
