Katerina
Hi all, working on our tax return, doing etax and I am confused.. We arrived on PR 12/4/2012 (granted 05/03/12) DH had income in IRL and he paid taxes there, one of the questions on the tax return here was if he had any income abroad in the financial year 2011/12 does it mean he has to pay tax here on his Irish income? I can't find any info on the ATO website, its only about resident becoming non- resident but not the other way around.. hope this makes sense Thanks
RockDr
You only need to state income since you became residents for tax purposes (generally the day you entered the country to live). So basically ignore anything from before the 12th april.
Katerina
Hi ROckDR, Great news , I thought the same but wasn't sure, I put 0 there for income from abroad and only declared income in Oz
