Hi Guys I am New to Poms In Oz. me and my wife have been together for 6 years and married for 2. We are looking to emigrate to Melbourne Austrailia. I am a time served joiner with all of the needed qualifications. I have 9 years experience in my job. I had a kidney transplant back in 2006. I am fit an healthy and never had any problems with it since. I have been looking at all of the visas and I am a bit confused to what one would be best. does anyone know if me having a transplant could be a big stumbling block as to get accepted. I was thinking of trying for a 1 years working visa and then seeing if it would be better to try and be sponsored while a was there. Thanks

Welcome to the forum, cannot help you with the visas but hope someone will pop along and help. I seem to remember another member migrating after a kidney transplant so have a nose around with the search facility.

Good luck

My step brother had some kind of bone problems akin to osteoporosis if not osteoporosis, after a long set of treatment in the UK he was deemed fit. When he emigrated with his mum to Aus all he needed was a letter from his specialist confirming he wouldn't be a burden on the Aussie health system. Not quite the same but you see its possible.

Good luck!
