freebo
Just in case anyone doesn't know, if you buy something for over $300 within 30 days of going overseas you can get the GST back on it at the airport, so long as you take it with you even if you bring it back into Aus. This is for Australians, PR's, TR's and visitors, pretty much everyone except aircrew. As an example, last time we went back to the UK we bought an iPad in Sydney we took it and the receipt to the airport, the TRS desk gave us a cheque for the GST, about $100, even though we only took it out of the country for 2 weeks. Of course there are conditions but its incredibly generous IMHO - details here - http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page4646.asp Shame the new Macbooks are coming out just after we depart on our next trip!
