Update: All 4 medicals done 2nd November. 3 of ours cleared on the 4th. Sons as mentioned above referred and then cleared on the 8th. Only supplied last/most recent school report and last CAHMS letter from yearly review along with copy of medication prescription. That was enough.

Hi, thanks for replying. U have checked the PBS list and it does appear on there under Ritalin brand but the same active ingredient which is Methylphenidate. I'm aware in Oz we will need to pay for it where as in the UK under 18s get it for free but that's fine. Like I said with in a year, 2 at most he most likely would be off the medication. Arranging a new assessment visa the state (NHS) would be impossible within the next few weeks. It took 2 years the first time, the system is terrible. We could look into paying and going private though so that's a good idea and something i will enquiry about tomorrow! Thank you. Hi. I have done a lot of searching on this site and Google in general to try and put my mind at rest over the last few months. I have even spoken to Dr Jan Gothard, a migration specialist but ideally would like to hear from people who have gone through it personally. Back ground is I recently had a job offer with WAPOL after 10 months of application process, and couple of days ago applied for our visas (family of 4). Never really crossed my mind until a news article popped up couple months back about someone in a similar circumstance. My step son who is 14 has ADHD. Diagnosed from 6 yrs old and through the years had his dosage increased,.mainly so he can concentrate at school. Last 2 years the dosage is stable and possibly as he is growing older/maturing the likelyhood is he may be able to eventually come off the medication over the next year. Anyway, he has no issues at school...he was disruptive years ago while trying to sort his dosage but now is doing great with no issues at all. No 1 to 1 support and is either at the expected level or above for his age. Other than his mediction (40mg Medikinet XL once a day) he gets no other help/assistance. We have noted his medication on the emedical ready for attending in a couple of weeks and are aware this will result in a B grade and referral. Is this just a matter of course and should be fine? Ive seen the cost of his medication and its well within the 5 yr maximum limit of $51000. We are getting an up to date school report to take with us incase they think it will help. Any other advice appreciated. Dr Jan Gothard did not believe it would be much of an issue and didn't think we would need their assistance but anyone gone through it please put me at rest lol. Cheers!
