  1. I'll be on a permanent resident visa and there will be opportunities to move later but my first couple of years will be wherever they decide. I know it will be a shock of they post is remote but I was just wondering if will break us and the Australian dream.
  2. We are always up for the adventure hence the move and we'd definitely want to see the real Aus although the last bit in your post poses a few questions!
  3. I'm afraid I don't know at the moment. All I know is they could theoretically post me anywhere in queensland. The 'rural' areas are a possibility. I just wondered that if I did end up in a very remote area is there going to be big issues with family life and fitting in. The snakes and spider are a concern for mo OH too.
  4. What are the thoughts on a UK immigrant moving to a Rural Community in Qld. Early days and still no quarantees but there is a possibility that myself and my family may move to Qld next year. There is a chance that I may be posted tk a Rural location rather than a more populated area. Given that we have no experience of living and working in Aus let alone in a more remote area what are the opinions on things like community, schooling, socialising not to mention the wildlife!? Thanks in advance
  5. For QPS you need to be resident but not a Citizen. They are so short of applicants they are advertising here I the UK now.
  6. Thanks for the info, hopefully I get through the interview.
  7. My understanding is that of I'm successful with QPS I get invited to apply for a visa?
  8. I wondered about the age thing but QPS have stated the age limit is 55! Don't know how they get round the immigration age restrictions or are they that short of officers and applicants they are relaxing this? Was hoping someone on here would have been through it.
  9. Hi, just joined the site and this is my 1st post. I'm 46yo and currently going through the recruitment process to join Queensland Police with a view that they would sponsor my visa. They have not as yet given me much information around the visa process so I was wondering if anyone else has gone through this process? Also how does it work with getting visas for my OH and three children? Thanks in advance.
