  1. Hi there - thanks for that.

Noted about the scams they looked abit dodgy and I couldn't see how they could fast track the Aus government so have avoided.

Just for info we just used the app Australian ETA and got it done within an hour so can recommend that !  Now have an ETA 601.  Just need the 482 to come through...

  2. Hi All,

My wife has applied for a 651 eta tourist visa on the 30/01 for a last minute trip to Aus to get my daughter settled in Uni out there and they are flying on the 5th Feb (Daughter's fine and is going out on her student 500 visa which she got early Jan)

Because of time constraints is there anyone who has used an express visa service/app that can process a visa quickly and also can it be done along with the application to the standard 651?  So applying for 2 visas effectively or should we cancel the std Gov't one ?

(If you are wondering why we left it so late it's because I was supposed to fly out with daughter end Jan with the company on my 482 which still hasn't come through despite going in end Oct  - is taking ages !! and we can't wait any longer as she starts Uni on the 11th Feb)

    Many thanks in advance

    Dominic

  3. Hi there,

As part of my job application I have been asked to do a pre-employment health assessment which I took to the GP.  GP got half way through and said it's too involved have to use a specialist who can do all the things required on the form.  Eye tests, hearing test, urine test / drugs screening, spirology (lung function) plus some very basic fitness and movement tests.

I've tried about 7 places but to no avail they all come back and say they can't help with this.  Please does anyone know a company preferably based in London that can do these sorts of things.

    Kind regards

    Dominic

  4. Hi there,

I know it can be subjective about what to bring or not but have a good Samsung fridge freezer, (cost about £1000 in 2014) and a condensing dryer and washing machine both about 4 years old - I'm getting shipping quotes soon but wondered if there was a rough rule of thumb about if it paid to bring these items or not.  Especially the fridge freezer as wondered if these travel well.

    Many thanks

    Dominic

  5. Hi there,

Thankyou for your replies.  A good question re the visa and permanence the honest answer is we're not sure if the move would be permanent for us (me and my wife) but would def get daughter established and well on a path to Aus citizenship.  She'd be able to get a student visa in her own right.  The cats are her cats so they can stay in Aus, with her once out there.

Not sure what would happen to us later on and  we might only get afew years there while I was working but would be a change from the UK !.

    Thanks will ask Pet Air...

  6. Hi there,

My family and I are currently looking to move to Australia but I have no job offer yet which we will need to be able to get a visa (too old for skilled migration !).  We would be hoping to take our 19 yo daughter and her 2 cats with us as she is hoping to study engineering out there at University and eventually settle and go for Aus citizenship.   I am wondering at what point do people start engaging a pet relocation service such as Pet Air when they have no real timetable for a move.

If anyone has any idea or experience with this sort of thing any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

(Note were advised as a starting point to get the cats rabies jabs and certs obtained which we have now done and told to keep them up to date which we will).

    Kind regards

    Dominic
