I have a Global Talent visa so can speak from my own experience. A good agent cares about their stats and does not want unsuccessful applications on their record. Good agents will be selective of their clients, ask for CV and shouldn't charge for an initial consultation since they will be assessing whether to take you on or not. Anyone who makes big promises and asks for money first should be avoided.
