Many thanks All for your replies. A quick question please: If we decided to pat the voluntary NI Contributions, Is this Tax deductible in Australia (e.g. like the super payments here?).

Hello,
Just wondering if it is useful to continue paying the NI back home even we are planning to live in Australia? Any experience on that topic to share here please?

Hi All,
We have just moved recently, and the mail redirection is expiring soon, thinking about to change the address but not sure how to do that with NHS. Any advice please?
Kind Regards,

Best of luck with the flights. If you do end up with DFAT, Howard Springs was fine for us as an older couple - a welcome enforced relaxation after all the stress. We did have to be in separate rooms next to one another, but I believe they were putting in some family rooms.
Many thanks for the info. To register with DFAT flights, do we just need to fill into the online forms and wait? or do we need to call them, or someone else to confirm? our next Saturday flights to Perth have just been cancelled today and trying to see if we can still travel in the next few days

Our flights with Qatar Airways on the 17th July to Perth have been cancelled, just received a notification an hour ago. Is there other reliable airlines which is currently operating flights from the UK to Australia?

We just flew from UK this week with Qatar, got our pcr tests done at Gatwick airport by express test it was only £60 per person there and £80 per person for Heathrow in case that helps at all.
Would you mind asking it that was an economy flight or not? which state? We have already booked with Qatar this summer to Perth but have heard many times that they are cancelling economy seats in favour of flying more business / first class due to the weekly cap.

In case anyone is interested, we have two vouchers for PCR fitness to fly tests available with ExpressText - https://www.expresstest.co.uk/book-a-test/. We had arranged tests for our SingaporeAir flights that got bounced, then got repatriation flights instead. Qantas include testing in their flight costs so our ExpressTest ones are redundant. The company wouldn’t refund, but sent me two £80 vouchers instead. They are valid until next April and fully transferable, so I’m happy to offer them to anyone needing tests done and struggling like we were with the sheer costs of everything.
Pete
If you do not mind, can you let us know how much we should expect to pay for a repatriation flight? I assume you booked via dfat, incase the booked commercial flights were cancelled. Also any reparation flights departing from Manchester airport?

Used SevenSeasWorldWide MoveCube and couldn't recommend them highly enough. If their smallest MoveCube (2 cubic metres/70 cubic feet) is too big for you they do smaller shipments down to individual boxes too. Seven Seas Worldwide Shipping United Kingdom | International Shipping Specialists
Just wondering if we are ok to ship our wooden dinning tables and chairs to Oz? Is anyone aware of any restrictions?

Hello,
Just checking if anyone used "www.sendmybag.com" or similar websites / services. Just thinking about using their services, or similar ones, when moving to Perth hopefully in the next few months, as need to move around 50 KGs of items.
Kind Regards

I have replied to you on your "removal query". I arrived from the east on the back of my husband being an essential worker so I had to obtain a G2G pass 3 weeks ago. My husband had already completed 10 weeks (5 batches of quarantine) at various hotels so this time we booked at the Perth Caravan Park in a cabin which was great! Friendly staff/ ground level all the amenities within the cabin at a favourable price. The thought of an airless hotel room wasnt attractive and the cabin ticked all the boxes.
@Freemantle we should be in a similar position soon and will need to self isolate though we will be arriving from the the UK. Will you have the option to select which accommodation to self isolate at? Would you mind asking how much it costed you to stay at the caravan park? As I do not think the hotel will be a good option for us as a family with 3 kids.
Does it worth it to continue paying National Insurance back Contributions back in the UK?

My wife was receiving child benefit before we moved here and she was not working back in the UK but now she works here. While the child benefits gives NI Credits, will this affect choosing paying voluntary NI class 2 instead of class 3?
