Hi, I want to book 3 one way flights from London to Adelaide during the first week of Jan with Singapore Airlines flying in Business Class, but just don't know exactly how the international cap level works and would appreciate some guidance. I have to assume that the airlines only have limited seats available to achieve the cap in that given week, so if I do book the flights, with seats available there is a reasonable level of certainty that I may get on the flight? Would appreciate knowing if my assumption is right. Thanks

I’ve not got Medicare yet and will apply once in quarantine assuming you can apply with a short term rental address, so would you recommend extending the cover for about a month ? Also, if you’re not working immediately, can you still apply for Medicare because we’re planning on taking a few months to settle in and ensure our daughters happy at school. Thanks :)

I've looked online and have downloaded the form, but unsure if you can apply from abroad or if you need to wait until you have an address in Australia. Also, if anyone has the time I'd like to explain in summary form how exactly medicare does work - bulk billing etc. All help would be most appreciated.

Hi, I'm soon to be moving and here in the UK I have some monthly prescriptions and would like to know how I can continue to obtain these on a monthly basis in Australia once I've moved. Do I have to register with a specific doctor/practice to continue to obtain them or is there a different method. I'm going to take 3 months of medication with me so won't need immediately, but would be good to know the process. Thanks

Hi, I would appreciate some guidance on what electrical items will work safely in Aus and which won’t due to the difference in Amps. I’m planning on taking TV’s, Kettle, Food Mixers/ Blenders, Toasters, Hair Dryers, Dyson Hot/Cool along with Smart Speakers etc. I know I’ll have to change plugs, but just not sure whether any of these would cause trip outs on a 10 amp plug. All comments would be most appreciated.

Hi, I'm moving to Adelaide, but haven't booked my flights yet because the flights to Adelaide seem very high at present compared to Sydney, Brisbane or Perth and just wondering whether it's worth biting the bullet and paying more for flights, or saving money and quarantining elsewhere which would still be cheaper even after booking internal flights. My thoughts were Brisbane because right now they don't require additional isolation when entering SA. Any thoughts would be most welcomed.

Hello, I'm getting close to leaving the UK and just have numerous questions going around my mind on things I need to do here and things I need to do when I arrive and just hoping this brain dump might help me :) And they are in no particular order :( - What do you do with any mail that might go to your current address in the UK when you've moved, but don't have a new perm address in Australia ? - How do you register with a doctor in Australia and what records do you need to take ? - How do you register with a dentist ? - What's required in order to rent a house in Australia if you've never rented before and don't have a mortgage in the UK so have no proof of regular payments ? - How long before you can apply for new credit cards in Australia and do you just carry on using existing ones from the UK until you can ? - Can you get a monthly contract on mobile phones if you don't have a credit history in Australia ? - Do you start off from scratch on car insurance or is existing insurance no claims taken into account ? - Aside from the above, what are the most important things that I need to do during the first few weeks, or during the first few weeks of quarantine ? I know there's a few things here, but any help to a newbie to this forum would be most welcomed. Thanks :)
