  1. Thank you Raul / Marisa for the responses. Yeah, i just assumed that with a drastic reduction of planned skilled visa migrants i would be disadvantaged due to industry and type of Mech Engineer. Shouldn't assume i suppose! I think the best options is probably a more in-depth professional assessment as you say. What is the best way to get in touch directly?
  2. Hi, Bit of context, I have extended family that live in AUS and due to some personal circumstance changes had planned on starting fresh in AUS once i'd gained a qualification and some experience in a new role. I was aiming for skilled independent or possibly work-holiday and sponsor / take it from there etc... I'm begrudgingly coming to the realisation that any visions i had of emigration have been all but squandered by the pandemic, so before i re-evaluate my future road-map i thought id offer my situation to see if anyone has any further advice or approaches i could take to help me limp my way to AUS and shine a perhaps small but bright ray of light on the subject! - I'm 28y/o. - BEng in Mechanical(& production) engineering with a Project management qualification (UK lvl7, IPMA?) - 10 years mechanical fitting experience and 2 years Project Engineering/Management experience (only negative here is that the sector is Defence & Nuclear) I'm aware there's possibility for 190 with enough points, though huge reduction in places for the next few years? High competition and as above i probably wouldn't be pick of the litter... Work sponsored is unlikely due to time for processing and i'd be hard pressed to find a Projects role with my background, mainly construction based on job boards/LinkedIn, which means i'd have more success in fitting criteria for mechanical/maintenence & testing/commissioning but the local resource pool is probably larger and obviously takes priority. Don't want to be pessimistic but the facts and reality aren't the best and of course as new revelations unfold throughout the year things may open up in different ways, so just looking for external opinions and perhaps professional guidance. Any and all advice welcomed, Ta, Alex
