Looking for some advice about de facto relationship visas. Me and my boyfriend (who is Aussie) have been together for a year and a half and have been living together the last few months. We are planning to move to Sydney early next year and we have been looking into 309 vs 820 visas. Would we be best to apply for a 309 from here in the UK once we have been living together for 12 months or could we apply for a 820 once in Australia and our 12 months of being together in the UK be recognised? I am under 30 so could go over on a Working Holiday visa I believe.
Was wondering if anyone had been in a similar situation or had any advice?
