Hi All,
My wife and I are looking to emigrate to Aus and have been looking at various routes including 189 and 190. Assuming she passes IELTS with 8's +, that would only get to 85 points, so I think we've decided on the 190, being state sponsored through Victoria, bringing us up to 90 (which I hope would secure nomination?).
My wife has a Mechanical Engineering Bachelors, having graduated in 2014, and has completed various engineering and engineering/project management roles since then, amassing just over 5 years experience. We're now looking at completing the Migration Skills Assessment through Engineers Australia, and have noticed that for a 'qualification only' assessment, it costs $470.80, however you can upgrade to include a 'Relevant Skilled Employment Assessment' (an extra $360).
On the Victoria website for the Nomination Occupation List (here), the occupation of 'Mechanical Engineer' is listed, however it states that the Minimum work experience is five years. My question is whether in order to prove the 5+ years of experience she holds, we need to pay for Engineers Australia to validate her experience through the additional assessment? If not, how do we show this experience upon applying for the 190 visa?
Any help would be more than greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Sam
