You must have a BVB by now, and are onshore so why even worry?

I am at the tail end of 13 month processing time and I have watched it get pushed back from 5-6 months. Various reasons to worry really. What if I get rejected? What if I got stood down or fired? What if govt isnt granting the visa for my ANZSCO code anymore? etc2

  2. NSW onshore from Dec 2019. Front loaded everything.
Did additional medical in Jan 2020 but no CO contact whatsoever.

Prolly due it not being priority occupation? But it's almost 13 months now and I'm just crossing all my fingers. Pretty anxious all in all.

I got PR for this visa in October, a friend last week and 2 more got the invitation this week. We all work or study at an Australian univeristy. This visa is heavily promoted by the department.  The EOI is easy and doesn't cost anything. So you can easily give it a go.

    @Christiane
I'm guessing by study you mean you are pursuing PhD and not just some kind of random degrees...

  4. As per seekvisa (dated Sep 2020, so not sure how accurate it is now) https://www.seekvisa.com.au/state-requirements-for-190-visa/

NSW will shortly commence their invitation round for subclass 190 visa nominations (no set date). However, NSW will only be inviting applicants who are in NSW and are in the health, ICT and engineering industry.

I'm also waiting on 190 and my occpation isnt in the above list. But yeah looking pretty grim

    EDIT:

Information for training, skilled, student and some permanent visa applicants:

Some visa applications ask that you provide evidence of English proficiency in the form of an English test result. Please do not use tests you can take at home, such as TOEFL iBT – Special Home Edition, OTE@Home and IELTS Indicator.

For a list of the test results we accept, see the Home Affairs Website.

You'll need to learn how to distract yourself! The only thing guaranteed in an Oz VISA application is that you will spend a long time waiting 😂

The visa situation ended up distracting me from my daily lives instead! I was fine till couple months ago.. But when 6 months passed by without any contact whatsoever... 🙃

I applied for a NSW 190 in Dec 19 to, didn’t front load the HC or PC luckily.
    No CO contact yet either.
Just along wait ahead into 2021 for sure!

Ahh, it'd suck if I have to redo everything. But as long as it comes out I guess.. Finger crossed for both of us!

Don't know about the other questions but on the points going up one it would not help.

Once you get invited to apply for the visa the points amount is irrelevant (unless you are found to have made a mistake and claimed points you dont have) and 65 point applications and 100 point applications are processed just as quickly

Thanks for the clarification! The waiting game is fueling my anxiety

  8. Noticed that the processing time has now been updated to 5-8 months (from 5-6 months I believe?).

Aware that 190 is on hold atm. So how does the processing time reflect the actual process?

I submitted my 190 application after getting the invite in mid Dec last year. Had also done another health check up late Jan this year, but I haven't got any CO contact so far

Looking at MyImmiTracker, seems like very few applicants from Dec onward are getting either DG or even a CO contact. Doesn't seem like 75% of us are getting processed within 5 months?
I can't possibly be the only remaining 10%?

Also if the occupation ends up getting axed from STSOL, would it affect my outcome as I have already received the state nomination? Quite a lot of redundancy in similar roles but I'm thankfully still employed.

Since my EOI application last year, my points have increased by 5 due to work experience. Would re-applying with higher points increases my chance at this stage?

I am onshore, applying for Marketing Specialist in NSW. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
