  1. Petair would ship for me they just don’t have their usual route with Qantas yet and don’t know when it will be back operational. Lots of airlines wont accept snub nosed dogs. This is an airline problem, Zero problems with petair. Yes the payments aren’t an issue I was just looking for some clarification on how it all worked.

  2. I can’t use pet air right now as they don’t have a flight that will accommodate my dog breed at this moment unfortunately. Thanks for all your help though, You’ve all all answered everything I was querying. Thanks again.

  3. No problems as such no. They just don’t currently offer a route for my dog unfortunately as he’s a chow, but even Pet air included they were unable to include the quarantine fees as they must be paid locally… Any other recommendations would be fab.

  4. Hi guys

Looking on some advice for the Australian side for our dog. we’ve been made aware that companies only deal with this side and you must deal with Australian side separately. So Can anyone give any info on where to get the import permits and how to book the quarantine spaces and how much these currently cost at the moment. Prices seem to be constantly increasing! Thanks for any info in advance

  5. We are currently in the process of sponsorship for emigration  and have only just realised there is a 180 day turn around from dog blood tests to entering Oz! Can somebody who has been through the whole process of transporting pets over please help and let me know what’s involved or needed from start to finish?

  6. Not sure. Could be different to go over as just a gasfitter then. I’m going on a state sponsored plumbing visa. It required all the paperwork etc then once that was approved by them an invitation to take a practical examination where you do some plumbing work, servicing a gas cooker, piping a boiler up etc nothing major. Your best bet to clarify may be emailing vetassess directly. I’ve done it a couple of times through out the process, they get back to you quite sharply.

Hi Nebsy. I completed my assessment in Blackburn last May. Nothing really to worry about. Straightforward copper work and a little bit of steel work. You have to follow a set of plans to the millimetre. Then you have to carry out some plastic work. Again you just have to follow the plans. We all completed in about 6-7 hrs. There is also some theory work as well thrown in. You sit around the table and just answer the questions for everybody to fill in. Bring your tools and bring a battery gun for screwing clips. And also knee pads.

Great stuff! Thanks for that david. Great help. Anything I should brush up on for the technical interview? Apparently a 2 hour interview before any practical, is that right?

Hi Brian. You need to pass a skills assessment . I’m a plumber and I’m half way through mine. Waiting for my practical in Blackburn in feb. You go through a company called vetassess. I used a company called the down under center.. they have helped me with all of my paperwork and send everything off to vetassess. They do all the hard work you just give them what they need. Makes life a lot easier.

How did you get on Josh? I’m currently waiting on my vetassess plumbing dates for Blackburn.
