Hi,
Immigration closed for new applications 189,190 and 491 visa till 30th june.
Will this effect on 186 visa too? Either faster the processing?
These are state nominations closed I guess.
May be not, I guess the immigration is busy on assessing criteria for people on temp/student visa to travel based on emergency purpose.

Hi there,
My employer will sponsor me in sc186 (working in NSW for this company for 2+ years now) Do you have any experience with processing time since Covid19? The website suggests 61-82 days, but the visa agent told me it could be more than a year. I hope she is just overly conservative on this, but some clarity would be nice. Thank you in advanceUsed to be faster before covid, can't really guess the timeline now, best thing to do is apply and wait, hopefully the processing should start soon.

Wait is killing me
Did you happen to contact immigration since your nomination is well over 6 months ?

To me very unbelievable.. hardly any grants in the last month.
but surprisingly they showing in days .. (61 to 82 days), I am sure a govt dept can't publish any wrong info publicly.
Whats the secret behind their calculation, any idea any body???
May be less number of applications pending for processing and we would be in the rest 10% .

Are you making a call to immigration?
What I meant is contact immigration on status of application. Not sure if it should be call or email and would it be worth it? Has someone contact before and got any result/response ?

Hi everyone, I hope everyone is doing ok and that your visa apps continue during these Difficult times.
I was looking for advice on 186 visa. Boyfriend’s previous employer In Melbourne has said he is willing to sponsor him on 186 but he’s never done it before. He’s a small construction business. Do you know how complicated it is for the sponsor and if we will need a migration agent , and if you used one do you have any recommendations?thank you and good luck everyone
Even I would suggest hiring a migration agent, though that can be a bit expensive, it would be worth it since the business is small and haven't done it earlier, and moreover would reduce headaches later

@Nancy_Ng could you please update signature with time frame details, on average it would abt 4 weeks, but given current situation might have impact as well

Aha ok. In my experience they are definitely not helpful I often wonder why they even have contact numbers, since all they ever tell you is that they can't help. So it's good to hear they are helpful with other people at least!
Hey, Can you please update the occupation in signature. Thanks

Thank you @devProgrammer!!
Just a few more questions:
1. If visa is already lodged (March 2020) and 1 requirement is about to expire on May 2020,is it still valid? Or will they be requesting for a new one?
2. If my 457 visa is expiring on March 2021, and worst case(hopefully not) -PR is not yet approved, will they be granting us a bridging visa or will they be extending my 457? Im offshore btw which is why i didnt get a bridging visa upon 186 lodgement.
Hope someone can help clear these questions pls. Thank u so much!
1. Depends on CO I guess, I have seem someone posting saying CO Didn't ask for document after expiry and other way around as well, it might be based on the document as well.
2. You need to be onshore so as to get bridging visa (you can apply for same once you become onshore), but though you can renew the 457 while at offshore, so I guess if you are still at offshore then that would be the way to go.

Hi guys!hope all is well with you! First time to post here.
I have a question. My company used a Migration Agent to lodge my visa last March 4. Im also done with the Medical examination last March 12.
Is it safe to assume that the nomination has already been approved? If not, How would we know if the Nomination has already been approved? Thank you so much!
Visa Can be lodged without nomination approval, so we can't say if the nomination is approved or not.
The only way to know nomination status is through your MA or company representative for same.
