Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Haven't really been in a similar situation but I would think that a passport has date and place of birth, and you could supplement it with a statutory declaration. Worst case scenario you can always call the general immigration phone number and ask for advice. Good to see that there is movement again. All the best.

May I please ask another question related to the 2nd VAC charge?

I applied for my parents in 2017 and just wanted to check when we are required to pay the charge, it will be the charge applicable in 2017, when we applied right? (Not the most upto date cost).

Thanks a lot and good luck with everything else ☺️

Once you have completed all the requirements such as medicals, police checks and completed AOS bond, you will get to make a payment for the 2nd VAC. As far as I know the amounts haven't changed. It should be $87,200 for both parents.

For people who have asked to pay the second visa instalment charge, may I please know what payment options are available?

The options given are credit card/paypal/BPay. If you are expecting the request to come through soon, transfer the required funds from overseas into your Australian bank account and BPay from your local bank account. There are no charges for this payment method.

This applicant was offshore. But requested 2nd vac in January and received visa this week apparently. Department says its strict date order. Not sure how this date order works where june comes before march. 😞

That's not fair at all. Hopefully things start to move in the right direction from here on. Fingers crossed.

were you sent an email 2nd week of Feb about your application being released from que for processing and informing you of legislative change to allow Visa grants on-shore for offshore applicants?

In our case, my parents are offshore and that's probably why they haven't received any emails. The last communication was when there was a request to get the AOS done. Haven't heard anything ever since. Hopefully we all see some movement in this space soon.

They are most definitely used up. I cant give you concrete evidence but that is what I have been told from IMMI themselves.
If they have a few places left, we won’t hear until after the onshore get their grant i.e. after 24 March.

Oh dear. That means we won't be hearing anything until July this year. I am just concerned that we will be asked to do medicals again seeing that they will expire in July this year. Not to forget that the AOS bond has already been paid. Wait and watch game I guess with a few unknowns it is.

  7. Can someone who recently got requested to pay 2nd VAC please let me know what forms of payment are accepted? I know BPAY is 1 of them but I am not too sure how it would work if my parents are going to pay this amount from an overseas bank account. Trying to give them as much information as possible so they are prepared for when it happens. Any guidance will be appreciated. Good luck everyone.

Received confirmation of the AOS acceptance. Joining all the rest of the folks in the waiting room for the second VAC payment request.

GOD speed to all of us ! Hopefully the  COVID-19 vaccine is found soon !

Our timelines are very similar. Hopefully there is light at the other end of the tunnel. Fingers crossed for everyone who is waiting for this visa to be granted.

My daughter has just submitted the application for AOS and they ask that she needs to go into her closest Centrelink to verify her documents and ID. Is anyone at that point now as we not too keen on going into a Centrelink during these times and in addition they give a number to call 132 850 but it doesnt even ring....Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I had to do the exact same thing in July. I was able to upload all documents online through MyGov but they need to see you in person in order to "Activate your profile". Once you do that, the system records this identification and lets you submit the application straightaway.

Did they call the assuree to conduct a telephonic interview regarding the AOS or did they just send the approval without any call?

I haven't received the approval yet. I think I have read from other members in this forum that they do call and basically you have to confirm with a yes to all the terms and conditions etc. I am hoping that they will call me closer to the 03/08. At the moment, I have just submitted the application for AOS, and it is under processing I guess.

@Gadgetfreak28 Doesn't look like the AOS acceptance time has picked up in your timeline. I have put in an applicaiton only last week on 7/7/2020 but still have to hear from them. I belive first they approve your application as an assuree, which in other words is the AOS acceptance. Next they ask you to pay the bank deposit within 14 days.

I belive you would have reach the first stage of acceptance and the bond would need to be paid next. Is that correct?

That is exactly right. The 03/08/2020 date is what I saw on my screen as soon as i submitted the AOS application for my parents. Will keep everyone updated as soon as I hear more.
