    Hi all,

I want to apply for subclass 864 contributory aged parents visa. Please guide me with be below queries.

Is there any minimum income requirement for sponsor?

As per my understanding  AOS minimum requirements is there for assurer.

Will the department assess any income now or after, when they need AOS and further documents.

    Thanks

The Aos income requirement is for assurer not for sponsor. The centrelink will assess the income of assurer when the assurer submit his Aos application.

    Congratulations!

The timeline for the onshore 143 visa grants to 173 visa holders is nice and quick!

    Best regards.

    Thank you Alan!

My parents are offshore when they applied 143 because the border closes to temporary visa holders 173. Fortunately, the timeline from 173 to 143 was very quick. Now their flight was booked to Australia.

    Kind regards

  4. My parents' visa 143 was granted yesterday. They were holding 173 before applying 143. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

    Here is the timeline.

    CPV 143 (hold 173) - Lodged and Acknowledged - late June 2021

AOS request - mid July 2021; AOS acceptance - mid August 2021

Request Police check - mid August 2021

2nd VACs request and BPAY - early September 2021

    VISA GRANTED  - SEP 2021

Hi. I sent in application for 143 slightly more than 3 weeks ago but have not received any acknowledgment. How long does it normally take and is it sent via email? Thank you for your time.

They sent an acknowledgement within a week for my parents by email. Could take longer at this time. Don't worry

Thank you for the information. I am applying aos and it requires to provide proof of identity in person. It won't a problem normally but now SA in lockdown and my local centrelink is one of the hotspots. I wonder if anyone experiences same and can provide a proof of identity over the phone or online.

I appreciate if anyone can help me with their phone as well as I couldn't find the phone line for aos purpose.

    My problem was solved

Hi I applied for 143 onshore after receiving my 173 - At the top of the last page of the applicants form it does say that you will not be required to resubmit any documents either as the applicant or sponsor. The only thing I had to reapply for was Police Clearance Certificate from Australia.

    Hi guys,

I hope those who have lodged their AOS application online through mygov in the past can help me with the questions below.

Q1. What is the visa applicant file reference number?

On the request for AOS letter, I can find 3 set of numbers:
Client ID: xxx xxx xxx xx (total 11 digits)

Application ID: xxx xxx xxx (total 9 digits)

File Number: BCCxxx/xxx xxxx (3 letters, 11 digits and 1 slash)

I assumed it is the File Number they are asking for, so I tried to key that into the box provided. However, the box only accepts 11 digits, therefore there is no way I can fit the whole 'File Number' in. The client ID however is exactly 11 digits, should I enter it as 'visa applicant reference number'?

Q2. Visa applicant details - address

On the form, no other countries can be selected, it has to be an Australian address. Should I use my residential address instead?

Hope someone can help, thank you,

    Hi Michael,

I am applying the aos online. Would you mind to share how you solved it?

    Many thanks

What about applying for your 143 now, before your 173 expires?

Susieroo, thanks for your suggestion. My parents are going to apply for 143. May I ask if you had to provide again evidence to support the sponsorship again in the 143 visa application? I see the check list only requires completed forms 47Pt and 40.

    Many thanks,

    Kind regards

  10. Hi everyone,

I am going to apply a visa 143 for my parents who are holding visa 173. Can anyone share your experience whether I should send again all documents to support my sponsorship if I am still the sponsor for their visa (173 and now 143)?

And if anyone was requested a health exam again for this visa after taking health exam for visa 173 ?

    Many thanks,

    Kind regards

Was extended by a year from the date they extended the entry date.   In my case 11/1/22.  Expiry date had been 25/2/21

let me know how you get on. Finger s crossed  for you

Many thanks. My parents' first entry date is in Sep 2021 so I think I would contact around June (3 month before the expiry date) or so.

I wish there is a magic which the travel restrictions and exemptions could be ease for visa 173 to enter Australia sometimes in 2021. Good luck to us

Hi I completed a travel facilitation form and follow up with an email to parents@homeaffairs.gov.au.   You will get a bulk standard response but you should then get an extension to your entry date.  If not, contact the MP for the area you are travelling to.    My daughter contacted for me and problem was resolved with 2hrs. good luck.

Thank you. May I ask how long is your extension allowed? I am worried if the travel restrictions would be long over 1 year more

Hi. Is any one else having problems getting answer from home affairs re confirmation that the 173 visa entry expiry date will be reviewed

Visa awarded 25/2/20  12 months given to enter AU

unable to travel to date due to AU and Uk Gov travel restrictions

Have been advised that it will not be extended and no return of money

subsequently told to fill in Facilitation form but website shows no response will be received if your visa number not show which it isn’t

Sent email to Parents@homeaffairs au.com  got standard response referring me to covid details on website.

why can’t they send personal response.

    Any thoughts ?

I have same issue. What happens if they cannot travel to Aus because of restrictions and the entry date is about due

I was wondering, would it be possible for you to switch over to a 143 at this stage rather than waiting till your 173 is issued?  It seems that switching from a 104 to a 143 doesn't lose your place in the queue so would it be the same in your case?  As far as I understand, if you've already submitted all your documents, the only extra thing for you to do would be your AOS.  If that was the case then you would have a PR visa rather than a temporary one and may be able to enter Australia sooner.  Just a thought.........

It requires to have the 173 issued before applying visa 143, otherwise it will lose the place in the queue. Sadly it differs from switching from 103 to 143.

Just a few 173 applicants, so I think they might forget those cases when considering 173 visa in the categories of travel ban exemptions.

28 days, which would have been ample if we weren’t in the middle of a pandemic.

Form 80 and police check all ok, but no medical centres are open in the UK. London is only taking bookings for July, but we are hopeful Manchester will open this week. Otherwise I'm going to have to ask for an extension to these 28 days.

I find it a little strange (although I’m not complaining) that we appear to be the only forum members to be asked for medicals at this time. Your timeline is almost identical to ours, so I’m surprised you haven’t heard something yet.

They are also allowed us 28 days (I heard last year they allowed 70 days). I think they will understand if you may need an extension because of medical appt. Hopefully everything is back to normal soon.

You can’t swap from a 173 to a 143 without starting again. Also there is normally parity in the processing times for 173 and 143 visas, it just got a few months out of sync last year (perhaps due to AoS delays for 143s). And now the 143s have got a little ahead, but it’s still all moving at roughly the same speed.

Thanks for the information. Hopefully we will hear a good move on 173 very soon.

It’s possible this was a transfer from an existing 103 - as you can keep your original date of application when you  transfer. So she could have applied years ago but then changed to 143

Is there the same rule applied for a transfer from an existing 173 (not granted yet) to a 143 application? I mean whether a person could keep her original date of 173 application when she transfers to 143
