Hi - yes it is a great news but as you may know that things are on hold for people on final stages of visa until end of May and then reviewed.
AOS is purely a CENTRELINK process which is independent of DIBP. DIBP needs a positive outcome from CENTRELINK for AOS and that’s what we have.

Aus has declared 6 months restrictions due to Covid-19. Hope that it should not affect 143/173 visa processes for six months.

So happy to hear you are finally in Australia even though you had to go straight into self isolation... you made it👍👍.  Did you have any problems entering on your visa as the government closed the boarders on the 21st March. I’m only asking as we have the Visa Grant but haven’t validated it yet ... we were due to fly 8th April but fights were cancelled as we live in Spain we are also in lockdown. Just like to know when they are flying again would we be able to enter Australia on our 143 visa without any problems.

Big congrats to you and your family 🍾. Shelagh

Hi Jellybean, Thanks. If you have 143 visa in your hand, it is enough. Validation is not important to fly. At the airport, they will check whether you have Aus PR or  Passport to be eligible to fly to Aus. Since you have 143 PR in your hand, you can catch next available flight to Aus. Good luck and best wishes to you🙂🙂

Where are  you living?   Don't you watch the news?   The coronavirus pandemic is not going to disappear, even with the lockdowns we're having.  Governments are not trying to stop it now, they are just trying to slow down the infection so the hospitals can cope.

The government has said the travel ban will be in place for at least six months, probably more.   We will not have a vaccine for at least another year and probably 12-18 months, so coronavirus will still be a risk until then, unless it disappears naturally (which is unlikely, although we can hope).

I came back to Syd 3 days back only and living in self-isolation for 14 days in my room. Not seeing TV news but just started seeing Abc news on my laptop. I was 1 or 2 months guessing that Corona virus will be defeated by all countries in the world. I'm still hopeful for this to happen.

I agree with you SusieRoo, definitely better as one forum. We are in the same predicament as you although we live in Spain... we have a dog going through the process at the moment. She was due to fly on the 1/4 and we were flying on the 8/4. Now we are in lockdown until at least 14/4 and her final blood tests were done on 13/3 so will probably expire and need to be started again. Although we haven’t managed to sell our house, I did sell my car and hired one for a month so not a good decision. Crystal Ball comes to mind!! Good Luck but most of all Stay Safe.

I think you will have to wait for 1 or 2 months max. Good luck.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

I am still a full time student studying Diploma degree. I hope I will be ok because I applied for this visa before the new rules changed so age doesnt matter to my case I think. What I am more concerned is how to prove, what sort of documents are required. 😞

I suggest you should engage a competent consultant / agent to help you at this critical time.

Congratulations. Is your application onshore? As you can see, we have a similar timeline, hopefully I’ll hear something soon, but I’m not holding my breath after 48 months

Thanks. Application was offshore. We have almost similar timeline. Hopefully, you should hear from CO in a day or two. Congrats in advance!

Hi lovely people, I submitted AOS on 26th Nov last year, the application status became complete on myGov yesterday, but I haven't received any letter or phone call from Centrelink. Just wondering if anyone have similar experience?

I rang Centrelink today, the lady told me all she can see is the documents I provided, she cannot really tell where my application is up to. 😑

You will get Bond request letter in your MyGov Inbox within 4 to 5 days.

Hi Greece, yes, they didn't bother calling me even though the guy said that I was due for an interview But, the guarantee letter came in my mygov inbox - still haven't received the paper mail. Using that I opened up a bank guarantee and using Miley's guidance I attached the band guarantee + original bg request letter from centre link in one PDF file (used the merge pdfs feature in adobe acrobat). So currently I'm awaiting the final letter. In the meantime I've written twice to my case officer for extension w/o any reply.

HI Lecher, Thanks for your response. I found Mily's guidance post of 26 Nov. Thanks

Hello all, I received a no caller ID phone call and my hunch it was the AOS folks. I logged into centrelink and says the AOS has been completed. But, I dont see any online request for bank guarantee and uploading further documents..? has anyone faced this before? Thank you

Hi Lecher, Have you received Bank Guarantee request letter yet?  My case is similar to you  AoS completed and not received BG request letter. Awaiting your input plz..........

    Hi,

the details are on my time line👍

Application to notification 2.43 months. No interview. Original phone call missed on 9/1/2020. Phone call to centrelink to query process email receive on 13/1/2020 saying AOS complete please pay bank guarantee. Bank guarantee paid 14/1/2020 and paperwork taken to centrelink office where they uploaded it 15/1/2020. A copy sent to immigration same day. Now waiting for notification that everything has been received.

Hi Bridgie,  Congratulation for AoS fast movement in your case. Have you done frequent follow up with Centrelink for fast process of AoS or it is without any follow up ?

The 70 days they have on the letter when immi request further document, I’m guessing that’s not a hard and fast rule? But do you have to apply for an extension? We are on 60 days now and still waiting to hear anything back from AOS.

I don't think we have to ask for extension of time for delay in AOS completion time taken by Centrelink is not delay from our side. Can anyone confirm this please ?

    Hi Greece,

I used Form 1022 to advise Immi of our sponsor becoming an Australian Citizen. For a change of passport details I would use Form 929. The e-mail address I was using at the time I submitted these forms (18 months ago) was: parents@homeaffairs.gov.au

I submitted these forms separately and each time I received the automatic reply almost immediately then, a week or so later, I received an acknowledgement from Immi confirming my details had been updated.

    Good luck!

    David

    Thanks David for quick response!

I’m no expert but I have been through the process and we have our visas now. I don’t think it would make any difference if there is one or two sponsors. We are parents of two daughters with Australian Citizenship and we only used one of them as our sponsor. Remember, the sponsor does not have to be the same person as the assurer. When it comes to applying for AoS you may find (if your finances dictate) that you need two assurers.
On your second point, the AoS application and bond requirement comes very much towards the end of the process. As someone else has said, the waiting period for you if you are applying now is likely to be 6 to 8 years. You don’t need to concern yourself with AoS at the moment.
On your third point, Form 1022 is used to notify Immi about changes in circumstances like the ones you describe. We used it and it worked for us.
My advice to you is to get your application in as soon as you can so that you secure your place in the queue.
    Good luck!
    David

Hi, we have relocated in Aus last year and I have taken a new passport of my country during Sept 2019. Also, my sponsors became Aus Citizen during Apr-19. Do we require to fill form 1022 and report all these information ?   Also, can you please share parent visa email id to send this form. Thanks,
