@art that is excellent news, congratulations....

I am trusting that since you and I have very similar timelines, Lodgement and Nomination approval, that I would be not too far off from a visa grant...but then again, predicting an outcome with this process only creates anxiety, so I will just rely on my faith.

Yes, I perfectly remember your nick name next to mine in the famous spreadsheet. I can only suggest, find anything that keeps your thinking out of the visa process for as much as you can. Remember, there are so many people in the "waiting queue" that have been waiting form much longer.

    Hi Guys:

    new to here.

    457-186

    hr

applied nomination and visa in Nov 2017.

    3 in total.

Nomination approved on early March 2019.

No further information requested after that.

    Med was done around mid-April.

    still waiting for my pr.

@ezzzzzz I think there are quite some people on the forum in the  same situation - got nomination and no visa precessing for months. Not sure what is happening.

Nope, I applied my NZ police certificates myself, which I had to. You must apply for a full record, which you have to apply yourself. You can only get a clean state certificate if you request through third party.

Regarding the MOJ consent form, you can read the below link on DoHA website:

    https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-support/contact-us/offices-and-locations/list?locationid=842#infoSummaryHtml

I quote the following for you:

"If you receive only one letter from the NZ Ministry of Justice, indicating 'no convictions' you will need to supply this letter and your consent for the Department to seek confirmation from the NZ Ministry of Justice in relation to the number of letters issued.

Your consent must include the following information: You Full Name; Date of Birth; Gender; Address; email; contact number; your MOJ reference number and the following declaration:

I hereby consent to the disclosure, by the Ministry of Justice New Zealand information to the Australian Department of Home Affairs that is restricted to whether I was issued more than one letter in response to my application for a Criminal Records Check. I understand that the response from the Ministry of Justice will be a Yes/No response only.

The disclosure of this information to the Australian Department of Home Affairs is to be used for visa and citizenship purposes only.

The declaration must be signed and dated."

@Fung Are you talking about this http://www.ozkiwi2001.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/MoJ-Consent-to-Disclosure-of-Information.pdf?

I applied via MA. What about you?

I think you’re likely to be asked for the MOJ consent form by CO if you haven’t supplied one. Unless they changed the procedure recently.

    Interesting!
Actually, I have found that there are two options for New Zealand (with two different forms):

    1. Request for Criminal Conviction History - Third Party -> guess the one you used.
    2. Request you own Criminal Conviction History -> the one I have uploaded with my application.

I am not sure if it makes a difference, as I have applied for visa by myself. I also could not find a requirement that specifically asks to use any of the above.

The page https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-text/evidence/Pages/et-h0290.aspx says "All visa applicants (and Family Sponsors) are required to provide a penal clearance certificate or police check from each country visited in the last 10 years" indicating that both should fit the bill.

Me too. I hold NZ PR as well. You have submitted a MOJ consent form with your NZ police certificate, right? That’s to give consent to DoHA to verify your NZ police certificate with MOJ.

No, I just uploaded my NZ AFP National Police Check report I got by email directly with my application. I am not sure what consent you are talking about.

Did you apply via MA or by yourself?

I’ve been waiting for 45 days now since nomination approved and documents requested.

Does anyone have experience on how long it takes DoHA to verify NZ police certificates with MOJ?

Hi @Fung, I have been waiting for 35 days since my Nomination approval. I hold a NZ PR (not citizenship).

What do you mean by "how long it takes DoHA to verify NZ police certificates with MOJ"?

  7. Does anyone know if the 30-40 days rule apply after the Nomination Grant? It has been 33 days since my nomination was granted, but no news afterwards.

I understand that the two applications are the separate processes. What I do not understand, however, is why the DHA considers new applications instead of finalising half processed ones.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    @sydneyishuk Not completely accurate...

I also thought this was the case, however, it seems more that the CO will not approve your visa application, until the nomination is approved.
There has been a case (here, not too long ago), whereby a CO had requested information on the visa application, even before the nomination was approved.

This was also new to me and in a way, I was glad to see it happen.
It means that both cases could possibly be worked on at the same time, however, there is an approval process / flow whereby the visa would only be approved once the nomination has been.

Just my 2 cents worth and something you might find interesting.

It is definitely two separate cases. My nomination was approved a month ago, whereas the application was not even opened yet. All the documents for the application are up to date, so I do not expect the CO to ask me anything atm (only something very specific). It is, however, so frustrating to wait for the visa knowing it can arrive any moment and still does not. 😞

@Johnkey8 I have been waiting since June 3rd 2018. Got my nomination on April 11th 2019, but still waiting for my visa (no further requests from immi). My company has sponsored heavily in the past, and I am currently the only one I know who is still waiting. I think we all need to be patient and wait. Do not worry, it will come one day.

No, my company is not an accredited one. I am also not aware of any rules the immi office is using in their judgement.

Are we allowed to travel overseas while awaiting decision after nomination approval? Have the bridging visa but not activated yet my 457 has still not expired. Am I allowed to take a short overseas trip?

@karsheka You cannot activate a bridging visa. It will be automatically activated once your 457 visa expired. So, yes, if you have a valid 457 visa, you can go overseas and return back.

@art I think it's worthwhile, re-iterating (been said many times), that this forum only represents a small portion of visa applications.

I can guarantee that many visa's have been acted on since Monday / Tuesday, however, they might have little impact on users to this forum.
    - It's a good suggestion to take this forum and the users within it, as a hand full of the applications out there, and not as a complete representation of what's happening in "the world of visas" 🙂

@Hex 100% agree! And this is exactly the reason I asked here. Being said, I also think that the spreadsheet is relatively accurate, meaning that the proportions are still representative to the reality.

@art Unfortunately no one will know the correct answer to this - as each case is different and taken on it's merits.

However, based off the typical scenario - lodging the visa like you have, should have no impact on your wait (depending on all criteria being met), as once the nomination is approved - they should be able to immediately look at your Visa.

I am asking, as 2 colleagues of mine (same company) have already received their golden visas (a month ago and this week), though applied (for both nomination and visa) either at the same time with my nomination or a month later. This make me think that the delay is actually due to late application.

I'm now in the same boat too 🙂 got email from NSW PSE this morning said our application will be handed to a decision maker soon, and advised us to complete police checks (already uploaded), and medicals.

Still no word from MA on nomination. Hope it runs smoothly from here.

Got same email just now. Does anyone know the timeline from this moment on?
