Thought I'll share the progress. Great News to Everyone who has been waiting, especially Remaining Relative Visa..

As at 31 December 2022, we have released for final processing:

Remaining Relative visa applications with a queue date of up to 31 July 2012
Aged Dependent Relative visa applications with a queue date up to 31 July 2012
Carer visa applications with a queue date up to 1 November 2021.

We can see the progress on the Carer Visa has jumped by leap from 26 July 2018 to 1 Nov 2021!

That means, they only have 2 Nov 2021 - 28 Feb 2023 to be prioritise.. and the rest quotas would be available for Remaining Relative and Aged Dependent..

My QD is 2 Jan 2013.. So I think it should take another 2 year max for it to be released for final processing!

As of this year, it has been 13 years wait since first application.. so total estimated 15 years wait!

As at 30 June 2023, we have released the following applications for final processing:

    • Remaining Relative visa applications with a queue date of up to 31 July 2012
    • Aged Dependent Relative visa applications with a queue date up to 31 July 2012
    • Carer visa applications with a queue date up to 31 October 2022

    Another 1 Year progress on Carer Visa - Remaining 1 Nov 2022 - 31 July 2023..

Hopefully the Quotas in the next 1-2 years are sufficient to cover Mar 2013 QD.

    Best of Luck Kheang

If the website says they're processing up to August 2011, then obviously, no one after 2 August has been notified yet.

    Hi Marisa,

As you read - it is as of February 2021.

It is March now. Eg: Someone in this forum had his Carer Application with QD of Dec 2017 released from the queue (it should have been processed up to Oct 2017 on Feb 2021).

If anyone got info, please share 🙂

    Thanks.

  5. Hi All,.

Last Info as at February 2021:

    • Remaining Relative visa applications with a queue date of up to 2 August 2011
    • Aged Dependent Relative visa applications with a queue date up to 2 August 2011
    • Carer visa applications with a queue date up to 11 October 2017.

    1. Has anyone been recently released from the queue for VISA 835 Remaining Relative?

    2. If yes, may i know your queue date (especially if the queue date after 2 August 2011) and when did you get the release notification..

    Appreciate your time and info.

    Thanks...

Other family visas - queue release dates and processing times

The annual quota for Remaining Relative and Aged Dependent Relative visas has been reached using existing queued applications.

There will be no further queue release for these visas during migration program year 2019-2020.

    Hi Aniki,

Does your friend (QD Nov 2011) end up getting released?

I'm pretty disappointed to see the update above. Apparently the Immigration have used up all of the year quota for carer only. They processed from 19 June 2016 - 11 Oct 2017.

Based on my summary the latest news as at Sept 2019 should be:

Carer has been released with QD up to 11 Oct 2017

Remaining has been released with QD up to 02 Aug 2011

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wonder how many Carer application are there from 11 Oct 2017 - to date. And I wonder if we will ever catch up with the numbers..

If they are going to release Carer only for next year then I'm expecting mine (QD 2 Jan 2013) to be released in about 5 years time 😞

Agreed not a priority visa but not a benefit to the country, I don’t agree with that. I have this visa, will be arriving next month, hoping to have interviews for jobs lined up for when I arrive and will work my little socks off when I arrive. It is nothing to do with the visa that benefits the country, it is the motivation of the individual that benefits the country. Plenty of people arrive on working visas and return home after a year or two, that does not benefit the country.

    Agree with you Dean.

People on this visa are working hard. paying taxes and dont get the benefit of centrelink. On top of that, we need to keep  medicare updated, applying bridging visa B anytime you get out of the country and y remain bounded with all these circumstances for a minimum 10 years time.

Also when i mentioned about clearing up it meant to talk about government increasing the yearly migration program level for this remaining relative visa, which they only allocate 500-600/year.. Why dont they give a relaxation and cut some other categories like partner/independent skill by 5000 and allocate it to remaining relative to reduce the gap of processing. Those categories has around 100k placement available every year..

Anyway just me bitching about this inconsiderate government.. I think waiting period over 5 years with limited condition are pretty harsh.. Mind you, you also can't get married with people who has immediate family overseas.. So we might wait for this visa and die lonely..

    Hi Clim

my aunty hasn't actually been formally notified.

We were watching the immigration website and saw they had reached August 2011 for releasing applications.

So we contacted our agent to check on progress, as he is authorised contact.

He emailed the department, and surprisingly they replied within 24 hours and said that 'it is expected that sometime in August or September this year that the application will be released from the queue for final processing.'

They operate over a June to July timeframe, so I'm hoping we get notified in August.

    Hope this helps

Now that make sense.. I originally thought she was already notified. I'm still about 1.5 years apart from your Aunt!! I'm so hoping the Immigration clear all the remaining ASAP..

    Thanks for the info..

    Cheers,

    CL

Hi, given the update on remaining relative visa, my queue date is 27 August 2012. Based on your maths what would the estimate be? I am thinking about 4 more years?

    Hi Phillay,

Yours will be granted earlier than mine. I estimated roughly about 3 years - could be earlier. *Given the Migration Programme for yearly quota allocation stay constant for the next 3 years.

Can you please do me/us a favor to let us know when you finally receive yours in the future? it seems you will be the first person in this thread to get it :)

    Thank you,

    Clim

    Hi Clim

That is correct. PR granted May 2018, visa now validated and moving to Australia in July. Keep a watch on the government website as the dates do change when you are least expecting it. Also, it is likely that a number of the 1636 applicants will fall out due to changes in their circumstances or they don’t actually meet the criteria, which could reduce the waiting time.

Good luck and I hope it comes sooner than you expect.

Yeah, you are totally correct. My estimate is being the longest time i have to wait. I hope many others do not meet the criteria or have their circumstances changed!

Thanks for the wishes :) and happy for you  :)

    Hi all,

What year of applicants are getting their Remaining Relative Visas at the moment?

I applied in January 2010 and got my queueing date 20/05/13. I have no idea whether they're close to processing that year of applications (or queueing dates?) or not. if not, I should pursue the spousal visa route after getting married last year. Spousal visa is more expensive, but has a clearer timeline.

I'm not a carer, not under 18 and not over 65.

    Hi Richie,

It's a pity that Government doesn't have much information on this. It pisses me off as well,! We might pass away before we even get this visa!

I spent a lot of effort to get information on this and i hope the info below and the fact given above can help you and other people who are in the same boat.

My queue date is 2 Jan 2013  - i estimated mine to take another 3 years before i get it. it should take another 4-5 years to get your Visa. I would wait and save that $20k.. and go party when you receive your PR.

You can do math with the information below (As of May 2018), and the number of migration planning year 2019-2020 (should be around 500-600 spaces allocated)

    The number of Carer Visa applications being placed in the queue from 19 June 2016 to date;
    = 402 Applications

The number of Remaining Relative and Aged Dependent Visa applications being placed in the
    queue from 31 May 2011 to 2 January 2013;
    = 1636 Applications

Thanks to DeanBib as i can now validate the accuracy of my information :)
