  1. Hi guys,

Please does anyone have an idea what else I need to do.

I have been on further assessment since feb2019 when my nomination was approved and all document requested was provided. Another CO contacted me to provide finger print on May 6 approved my my country i.e another police check. This have provided on May 9. But uptil now i have not heard anything. All email to co never replied too. Is there any better ways to do this.

I applied as a social worker

    Visa applied May 2018.

    Thanks

    Congrats for your PR 🙂

one question. When did immi asked for documents?

    Congratulations.

This process can be so terrifying. Nomination approved 22/02/19, submitted all requested documents on 14/3 and after more than 2 months of silence, requested fingerprint endorsed by my country national police, submitted 9/5. Still waiting. They are pain!!!

Hi which position did you applied? Have u got ur nominaion ? Is the expirence before you have applied for your visa ?

Yes nomination approved since Feb 20 and requested evidence of 3years expereince in nominated field. I was nominated as a social worker- have a post qualification expereince of 2years and 3month as the only years my 485visa can carry. Prior I have like 5years of expereince doing similar jobs. All evidence submitted on march 14. Am still waiting, still shows further assessment.

    HI ,

    Applied 187- office manager

nomination has been approved , asked to do medical after medical ,they have requested further evidence on qualification and work experience relevant to your nominated occupation. Actually I have done master in ICT and 1 year profession year program. , I have 5 and half year experience as office admin. I applied for visa on 28 July 2018. I am worried as when I applied I have already proved strong evidence of of work and study. Don't know what they want ?

for office manager do I have to study accounting instead of ICT, so WIRED if I had experience in ICT why would I be apply 187 I will be applying 189 don't know what they want ?

Does anyone know will this effect the visa grant .

We in same boat. Further assessment for almost 2months now. Had lot of expereince that in the field prior to me graduating as a social worker. Then I have 2years and 3month post graduate expereince. All these evidence have been submitted. I am equally worried.  we might be able to support eachother with some expereince

I also applied for skill assessment as well , let’s see how I go .

I dont need a skill assessment for my occupation it an ANZSCO occupation(social worker). I have read immi legislation over again it only says relavant occupations with skills performed same level.

I didn't study in Australia, I completed over 3 years with my current employers, then applied for 187.

i did all my qualifications in UK, but have assisted with the education of coaches in Australia, as a coach instructor.

I'm just waiting for our AFP Certificates to come through, then upload them, we have submitted everything else and our Medicals have been done and shown as completed.

    That good, sound nice.

All document requested from me have been submitted. One clause is that I have over 6years of experience in related field prior to my qualification and 2 years and 4 month of post qualification working for my present employer (hospital mental health service) hopeful it goes well.

And I hope yours goes well too, just waiting for the past 3weeks since status changed to further assessment.

But here is one issues am dealing with inside and hopeful im able to meet the 3years work expereince requirment. I have work in relevant field for more than 5years but are pre- graduate jobs and 2year and 3 month post study expereince. All tasks perfomed are social worker duties. Please can you advice your expereince of this.

Yes for sure as long as it's in ANZCO classification they will take your work experience and qualification as a whole. Please do keep us posted when you get your good news. I'm sure it will be pretty soon after you provide immigration with the requested documents. Good luck!!!

I will let the group know. Much appreciated!!

Hi Daveyy, well if your case has been opened by the CO...it's good news for sure at least the long deadbeat wait is over now it's just a matter of a short wait. Now getting to your question - I had answered your question based on what is provided by the immigration website but you have to agree that there is a certain grey area which is not clarified and is left open to the case officers' judgement for example some visa's need to show 3years post study work experience after to your qualification when in reality the department only give you a 18 month to 2 year visa on post study work. Then the other example is when they ask for a certain amount of work experience but they don't specify if counts as part-time or overseas, so this is entirely the CO own interpretation. By the way for you it should be a straight forward issue since you can provide both the qualification as well as the 3 years work experience requested (I would resend all my work experience which in your case is more than 3years and a good thing...let the CO sort out and be satisfied rather than him assuming there's insufficient documentation to prove your experience) - so it shouldn't be a problem here and yes sometimes files do get corrupted and you get asked to send them again and again in different formats (this has happened to me 1st hand experience) it's quite frustrating but what else can you do.

Thanks Mark for your lenghty reply, it did a great relief.

I have been in consultation with the migration act and its interpretations skill and expereince and as you said it does not specify otherwise, so should be good as long as its a task that aline with the ANZCO classfication for the profession equivalent to an award of bachelor degree or masters in the field.

Restaurant manager , I do have 3 years experience but I have done couple of months casual (30 hours per week ) , I don’t know I am not positive about anything because I have already gone through so much .

We can only hope, look it doesnt say full time work expereince.. casual work, should be relevant as long as its paid job. You may need skill assessment under your classification.

Its silly how someone who studied here will have 3years work experience pist study when you only given 2years post study visa.. this is all shambles

    Thank you Sonia,

I think I might just wait to see if what I have submitted is not enough. Related work expereince is what is required, it doesnt say post certification experience. I have my case file open and that is just one thing that I need more knowledge about. I did call the 131 immi number and I was told I should be fine, as it i only need a work expereince under same umbrella as with my normination.

I am in the same boat. I applied 187 visa on July 2018. According to my knowledge, experience should be after your qualification.

Unfortunately the immigration person I spoke it was unable to verify this, said its state work related experiences, if not otherwise it would have been specified. Am in a limbo here

Davey your question is not clear enough. Firstly you haven't stated what Occupation you have filed your 187 visa. There are 3 different routes to the 187, let's say you are applying through DE (direct entry) in this case you need to show either 3 years full time work experience or a relevant Australian qualifications to your field (Note- only one is required of the two either experience or qualifications is enough to apply). Secondly the other pathways to 187 can count your overseas work experience as long as it is more than 3-5 years, your part-time work can also be taken in to consideration if you have worked legally for 20 hrs/week while studying and can prove it through payslips. Hope this answers your question.

Thanks you did partly well to answer my question, but is this from your expereince or immi advise.

Okay here is my situation. I applied for DE 187 in May, 2018, got my visa and normination file both open 2 days ago with two seperate request, one is to provide " 3 years experience in nominated field along with Australian qualification(s).

Am a qualified Social worker working in mental health field being working 2years and 3 months now post qualification as a social worker. Prior I have work more than 3years in related field, which is youth work coordinator in NY home country( reference letter already provided in my application submitted in May), more than 1year part tine expereince in Youth work in Australia( ref letter also submitted to this effect). All work expereince references are online with the ANZSCO for social work and infact I did one of my placement as in youth work which tells how much related the field. So am not sure why I have been ask again to provide this, though CO called my Immi lawyer to say they unable to see some of the documents uploaded , requested for re-upload, but am abit unsure how to interpret the request re 3years work expereince.

Sure any advise would help, especially from those going through this issue

  17. Am a silent reader here. Thought I see who else is in same shoe with me. I have applied for 187 visa post changes to the rules, in May precisely but am not clear yet on the requirements for 3years work experience, could this be a post study qualification experience or experience relavant to the nominated position. Does part time or overseas expereince count too.
