Currently facing the same dilemma.
Allianz seems to be the only available option?

It's pretty bad.
My parents are moving to a 870 visa from a Subclass 600 visa. We are also researching what to do about their insurance. Their current Overseas Visitor Health Insurance from Medibank costs $375p.m and includes medical services provided by a doctor, which are listed in the government’s Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS).
example:
• general practitioner (GP) consultations.
• other medical services provided out-of-hospital (for example, specialists, pathology and x-rays).
• in-hospital medical services provided as part of an Included service (for example, surgeon and anaesthetist fees)
• allied health services billed with an MBS item number (for example, eye checks and services related to chronic disease
management plans), except psychology services.
The equivalent with Allianz is their Standard Visitors Cover for 870 visa - which is about $800pm! More than twice the cost.
Has anyone found better coverage?
