Hi I have a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from an Australian uni and currently undergoing my CPA program while working as an external auditor in Singapore. As you are aware, the CPA program requires to have a 36 months (3 years) work experience in order to become a qualified CPA. I plan to migrate to Australia after working for 4 years (from the time i graduated from Uni) in order to get the additional 5 points. My question is, will CPA consider my work experience to be as 4 years because I have an Australian degree or only 1 year which is after the completion of my CPA program? Thanks!

So does that mean i can’t claim points for my work experience overseas? I’m aiming for the 5 points.

Hi, i’m a recent graduate in Accounting from one of the Go8 universities and will be returning home to work as an Auditor in early January. My plan is to come back here again say after 4 years. In terms of claiming points for my work experience, will CPA or CAANZ consider my work experience right after graduation or after i finish my CA program? What does “post qualification” mean? is it after my degree or after my accounting professional qualification? i know a lot of things can change in 5 years, just want to check if my goal is indeed realistic. Thanks!
