    Hi Guys,

Happy to share that I had the best start to the weekend with the grant email coming through on Saturday morning.

Application status went straight from received to finalized. No further information was requested. It took almost 7 months with Nomination being approved in April.

Please update the same on the spread sheet. My data is in December with username RjayD.

Wishing you all Good Luck with your grants.

    Cheers!

Great news man! Our timelines were quite similar in the end :)

    Hi Guys

    Hello everyone 🙂

Just joined this forum as my ENS 186 visa (TRT) application has been lodged on 4th June 2019 and I wanted to know what would be possible timeframe that I can expect for final decision. I had a look at the tracker in the spreadsheet whose link comes in with the welcome message but found that it has very few entries. I was just wondering if I am looking at the right tracker - can the forum members help me with the link to the visa tracker spreadsheet please?

Also, from the posts in this forum I am getting a feeling that timeframe for final decision is extremely random and there is absolutely no way to tell if the decision is gonna take 2 months or 2 years! Bt still, I wanted to ask if someone has identified any pattern at all here - like if some occupations or nationalities or company sectors experience swift decision making and others do not? Being a newbie I'd love to hear thoughts of people around this one.

Thanks everyone and good luck to all those waiting for the decision.

    Cheers!

"Extremely random" just about seems to cover it perfectly! Your understanding is about the same as everyone else. From what I've seen, there seem to be *some* but not all, long waits given to people in hospitality industries for reasons I don't understand at all. Other than that, there seems to be a policy where *some* applications seem to be plucked from the top of the pile in a matter of days/weeks/small number of months.

From your perspective though I would just say make sure the application is as complete as it can be, and hope you're in the 'early' pile.

  4. For those of us with challenges from the DHA to show Australian licensing proof, this was the one thing I thought might end my application. I'm in a branch of engineering in which some job positions in Queensland could need it. I knew categorically from my employer that I wouldn't, but I also spoke to an immigration lawyer who insisted that it would be a blanket requirement for me to get licensed in order to be granted a visa. There would have been insufficient time to get the license, and so initially trusting the lawyer's advice, we had a number of sleepless nights.

In the end, in consultation with the employer, I uploaded a letter outlining job duties in detail, why their position did not need licensing, and offering a contrast to show how the duties I would be performing did not carry any public liability.

To my extreme gratitude the visa was granted, which showed that

    a) Anyone can be wrong, including immigration lawyers. They really should speak from a position of absolute knowledge, not guesswork or assumptions
    b) You do not need a license to work in an engineering position if the job itself doesn't require it (i.e. it's not a DHA requirement to have it for any engineering job)
    c) The employer letter was sufficient in scope for the DHA to approve

There were so many forum posts I read where people had posted "oh man I've been asked for licensing, what do I do?", to then a few weeks later posting "yippee!! I got my visa" without explaining what they did. As these cases were closed in just a few days or weeks, I doubt any of these people actually got licensed. So, hopefully I have helped someone. Advice is to talk with your employer and provide a detailed letter.

  5. Hi everyone,

Well after a journey that started almost 2 years ago, through various roadblocks in the 189 and 186 pathways, I just received the Golden Email!

I have updated the signature for the kind maintainers of the sheet.

The help and support on this forum has been very cool to watch. For most questions anyone can find the answer they're looking for.
I'll make another post regarding licensing / ANZSCO, but this one is to thank everyone and wish all those waiting the very best 🍾

    • Congratulations 5
  6. Hi all,

Not sure how many will be able to assist with this, as I'm an offshore applicant, maybe @RjayD if you are still around ?

I received a request for further documentation "Employment registration licensing / professional membership", for which the details read:

Provide evidence from the relevant Australian registration or licensing authority that you hold the relevant registration or licence or that you will be able to meet necessary registration or licensing requirements.

Alternatively, provide evidence that you do not need to hold registration or a licence to work in the nominated occupation.

I'm a little confused because, having not worked in Australia, I do not have an Australian license of course. I do have the Skills Assessment already attached which states:

Engineers Australia is pleased to advise that your qualification from the following institution:

meets the current requirement for the following occupation:

Professional Engineer Skill Level 1 Chemical Engineer 233111 June 2000.

I'm not sure what do do here since I'm pretty sure I've already fulfilled the requirements.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  7. Hello guys. I'm happy to say I heard that my nomination was approved!

My signature is updated. Application status is still "received", and I do need to complete medicals and police checks, so will expedite those and we will see what happens. For anyone doing sheet updates, my initials on there are DJH.

  8. Congratulations to all recipients of the golden email. I'm like one of the posters above, dropping in here every day to watch but not posting much. There must be a ton of us like that! The way they pluck people from the list from all different timelines is pretty interesting (frustrating if you're on the long end of it no doubt). Here's to hopefully a very productive visa granting process for the rest of the year.

I did supply the form 80 (without being requested to do so), and I always suggest the same to anyone who asks.

Yes, it might not be requested but from history and this forum, it seems a high percentage of people are asked for it - meaning, if you don't have it - your visa process is delayed again.

    - The data it contains is not that difficult to complete, and hence, I didn't see it worth not supplying, in risk of extending out the process.

    Hope that helps.

    Certainly does! Thanks.

My migration agent advised me not to get my medical done until at least 6 months after I applied to limit the chance of expiry!

Oh another Canadian in the waiting list 🙂 I'll have to keep an eye on how things go with you. Hopefully soon you'll get some action.

Yeah unless we see a lot of quick new movement here I'm tempted to hold on just a bit.

    • Thanks 1
  11. 5 months, wow. It will be interesting to see if anyone else gets anything approaching that short timeline in the coming weeks, but definite congrats!

When I filed my application about a month ago I didn't even bother getting medicals or Police clearances, as the 75% "processed by" timline was 15 months and I was sure they'd expire. Might have to rethink that if we see more of the above.

  12. Wow, what an epic thread!

First time poster. 186 DE, employer nomination Dec 7th 2018, applied Dec 14th 2018. Occupation is Chemical Engineer 233111, born in the UK, citizen now of Canada as well. Age 41, hence was finding it pretty futile to get a 189 with 65 points. So, lucky to find a sponsor and now at the back of a long line, but it's a line that actually moves 🙂

Look forward to reading a lot more of this thread and finding out how everyone's timelines are going.

    Cheers,
    Dave
