  1. Visa 600 question for anyone currently in Australia on a 6 or 12 month 600 Visitors Visa waiting for their 309/100.

What is the process for applying for and getting the 600? Do we book return flights to prove she will leave then apply for 600, what if we book flights and apply then they refuse or if they don't grant the 600 in time for our proposed flights, do we apply for 600 then book return flights if approved?

    What has everyone done?

  2. I've just received a lengthy RFI from London office;

Personal Statement regarding ACRO SAR. fair enough. 100% nothing serious and not worried, but done.

Redo FORM 40sp as they couldnt link my first one to it 🧐 hhhhm,  ok, done.

Provide AFP for sponsor, which I had already done l, they just didn't look. Sent a statement telling them where to look and also re-attached.

Separate from form 40sp, write a statement of travel and address for the last 10 years, 😂 no idea why but done, just copied and paste from application.

Main applicants police check from Cyprus needs to show maiden name. impossible as they way the Cypriot system works is that they can only check for a name that has entered the country, the name that was in the passport and that was our married nameStatement typed scanned and submitted

    FML

    🤞 I'm not normally a religious man, but 🙏

At least London office is moving again after the slow down for elections.

  3. A question for those who have their visa now, if you don't mind sharing?

On the attachments part of the main applicant 309/100 part, where there is an area to attach "health, evidence of" area, did you leave this blank as the health assessment part says "All health examinations required for the specified visa subclass have been finalised. Processing of this person's visa application can now continue. This will not occur until a case officer investigates the case in line with published processing times for the visa that has been applied for. Do not contact the department about health examinations in the meantime"  or did you add any documents i.e any paperwork from the actual medical?

I've got nothing to put in there as the medical practice didn't give me or send me anything but a receipt  😂

Thanks for this @Waitingaround I have just completed my AFP and it's as straightforward as the UK one... I just hope it comes through within the 28 days. I'm presuming it gets posted?

Yep, hard copy through your door. You get a confirmation email letting you know that they have put it in the post and it gives you a rough time line. Mine said 20 days but that was over Christmas which I'm hoping is the reason it took 6 weeks😂 could have been the fact I only lived there as a minor.

Fingers crossed yours doesn't take as long, I don't see why it would. Good luck.

Hello, so I've just had a RFI this morning (maybe things are picking up again?!) and along with my husbands medical and police check, they've listed an  Australian Federal Police Check under my name, but given I've never lived in Australia other than for the odd 2-3 week holidays, do I just ignore this? I'm have Citizenship by Descent so have only ever lived in the UK. I have emailed the CO back, so hoping they actually reply...

As a Sponsor, do I complete a medical examination too? Sorry for all the questions 😫

    I had the same thought when lodging so I rang the Global service centre and They told me the following;

The AFP Cert is required for the sponsor to prove they have not been in trouble with the law since birth, so if there are any juvenile "issues" then Immi can see it and make their judgment. As it is they can only see your adult file but the AFP check tells your story from birth.

I left Australia at 10 years old and when I applied for AFP Cert I gave them 10 years of UK addresses and all was fine. Took 6 weeks but that was over Christmas, cost about £25.

     Argh, problems!

    Second RFI!

They are requesting sponsor proof of British citizenship. My missus is by descent, here dad is British but he was born in Kenya as his dad was in the army.

    This is what thy sent:

Documentary evidence of the date and method of acquisition of the Sponsor's British citizenship, e.g. citizenship certificate or letter from the relevant authority detailing where, on what date and by what means their British citizenship was acquired. Please note that a passport is not acceptable evidence as it does not provide the required information.
    -2-
If you are unable to provide the required documentation please make a Subject Access Request under the Data Protection Act 1998 to HM Passport Office. To do so please write to the Peterborough Passport Office and request the release of your passport details including the Section and Act of Parliament under which you acquired your British citizenship and the date on which it was acquired. You should include a copy of your current British passport and a cheque or postal order made payable to HM Passport Office for £10.

anyone else been in a situation like this?

    SB

Hoping that I haven't misunderstood, but.......

The law you are looking for is The British Nationality Act 1981.

"Children born overseas to parents on Crown Service are normally granted British citizenship otherwise than by descent, so their status is the same as it would have been had they been born in the UK."

I would have thought that a copy of her father's Birth certificate would be ok with an explanation of the law as her dad will be named on her Birth Certificate.

An SAR from Peterborough wouldn't say when, where or how you got the citizenship, just that its current with the passport and any british visa information they had on you.

  7. All documents uploaded to partner 309/100 but now it's got me(sponsor) named at the bottom where I can add 100 documents. (Picture 1)

I have already done my sponsor application (29 of 60 documents) linked it to the 309/100 and uploaded relevant docs (Picture 2)

There are no relevant slots on partner application where it names me. Is this saying I have fulfilled the requirement on the sponsor application already or do i add the same stuff again in the "others" space on the parrner application?

Going crazy thinking it's not right and they'll just skip over me😲20190103_225055.thumb.jpg.cf61b0cfbdd7737d1f894c133386cc3d.jpg

I applied for the 600 while waiting on my 300 (still waiting on the 300). The 600 was granted within 48 hours of applying.

You need to make sure that if your 390 is approved before your 600, that you withdraw your 600 application immediately as if it is granted after the 309, it supersedes it.

So if you've got an application in for 309 then submit an application for 600 let's say 6 months later, it's just a case of fingers crossed that the 600 is granted first?

Do the Immi Department give you warning that your 309 is about to be issued?

I've also read alot that when in Australia on the 600 with an active application for 309, the Immi Department get intouch with you and ask you to leave for up to 5 days to give them time to issue your 309/100.

Is that what you're hoping for?

  9. I realise there is a lot of info on here in reference to getting a Tourist Visa (e600/600)(3/6/12 Months) but thought i'd make a thread soley for it and any experience.

So let me ask the question on everyone's mind and see what stories and experience we get.........

Should/could/can we apply for a Tourist visa subclass 600 whilst awaiting the decision on the 309 temporary part of the partner visa???

  10. So....... New here but had a trawl through the threads and all of the info on here helped me apply for my wife's 309/100, so thanks to all those on here that have shared their journey.

We have just applied on Wednesday (12th Dec 2018) and appear to have joined an ever growing que.

Has anyone ever had to apply for a Police check from Cyprus? I applied around 2 months ago and haven't heard a peep. They have my Email, Home phone and mobile number. Hoping someone on here has had this experience before? I have rang all numbers available online and Emailed all offices from the Cyp Embassy London to the Chief of Police in Cyprus, no replies😫
