    Hi all,

glad to share that my visa came through earlier today. This forum has been very helpful for me to find relevant information, which I used to inform a number of decisions (including the timing of resignation from my current employer despite some level of uncertainty ).

I have updated my signature. I am not in the May excel sheet. If someone could add my info to it, please.  I once requested it but received no response.

BTW, I am a researcher and as you can see, an immigrant myself. Am very interested in doing research on immigrants and how they adapt to the new life and work in a new country! Maybe you can participate in my research after I have entered Australia 😀

    Good luck to everyone!

Congrats! Keep us posted on your research project.

Tons of Uni Lecturers getting through at the minute!  New term must be round the corner 🧐

A question to @Hex @boo-yaa as we are seeing grants for people in 2-3 months and files getting approved for people applied in August 2018. Is this due to MA being proactive as it makes no sense for people waiting from 2017 or in my case March 2018 been waiting for 11 months now... I know its an tricky question but I am trying to find some sense of how and what criteria is immigration using currently as I have contacted my MA just earlier as if he doesn't contact immigration I will give them a call and send an email as well as my application will be entering 12 months in few days so I will be out of processing time soon so I will take it up on my own to get some attention on my case otherwise nothing will happen...

I know your question is directed at Hex and Boo-Yaa - no one really knows, but I expect it's because they paid the SAF which was introduced in August. I'm sure there is other factors, but this seems to match up.

Completely unfair in my opinion, but life isn't fair, especially Australian Visa's.

Hopefully they will shorten the processing time

I can imagine processing time will fall, as there seems to be somewhat of a surge in applications being processed post August 18', when the SAF was introduced.

Good news for new Applications, I assume bad news for the rest of us, with some DHA resources being pushed onto the new Nomination SAF stream.

Purely my Gut feeling, no facts.

I'm not an expert but I'd say it's obvious:  if you quite one day after visa grant, then it's glaringly obvious that you let the application continue even though you knew you wouldn't take the job. That's fraud.

Whereas if you resign a month or two after visa grant, then that's long enough for your circumstances to change and no one can prove your intentions one way or another.

Yes very true. It's a tricky situation for some, especially with such long visa processing times these days. But people must respect that it is a Employee Nomination Scheme.

They could cancel the visa if they came to the conclusion that it was granted for fraudulent reasons, i.e. you had no intention to remain with your employer and made that decision before the visa was granted.  But if you resign a month or two after your visa is granted, your visa will not be cancelled.  The 186 is different from the 187 in this regard.

Hi Maggie, out of interest, in regards to the 186 TRT - what's the difference between quitting 1 day after VISA grant, to 1 Month? IMMI is not notified either way?

Only if your Sponsor was to report you to IMMI would they find out?

People should do their best to stay within their company for the 2 years - to keep inline with the commitments made.

    Hi Folks,

Just received the call from MA. The nomination has been approved.
Let's see how much more to wait to see the Application Decision.

Normally what is the timeline from Nomination to Final Visa grant?.

Keep your spirits high and don't lose the hopes. Everyone's day will come..:)

    Happy Friday all.

its been a long wait ,

application went in when processing times were 7/9 months

its been a long road , hopefully now they have made contact  i wont be waiting much longer.

That's a crazy wait for a Low Risk Occupation / Birth Country...

Not got a Criminal Record or anything have you? 😂

Not really. If you apply through MA, you can still track your application progress but do not do anythings in your application. Your MA is only allowed to response to CO on the visa application. Your roll as viewers only.

    Not really or not?

I'd hate for them to find out, to CC my MD in an email and ask why I've done something against their instruction... Just opening a can of worms, I understand I'm within my right, but just conversations that don't need to happen should it be raised with my employer.

    Hi Woidy,

In order to track your application you need to log in to your immi account and then find out “Import your application” click on there and follow the instruction given. You should be ok.

    Hope it helps

Do you know if the MA is alerted to an Applicant importing their Application?

My MA was specific in my Lodged Email not to access the IMMI account to track progress as advised in the Application Lodged email, but I'd rather have some oversight on it.

    Hi Guys,

I am following the trend of visa and nomination approvals or a while. Immi is processing Feb and March applications at the moment. I think a huge number of applicants in Feb causing the delay, however, we should consider significant periods of inactivity for all the cases (waiting time).

It seems delay is not only related to 186 visas. In the News: “An official government audit has slammed Peter Dutton's Home Affairs department for "long delays" in approving citizenship applications. Applications for citizenship have not been processed efficiently by the Department of Home Affairs," the auditors concluded. "Processing times have increased and long delays are evident between applications being lodged and decisions being taken on whether or not to confer citizenship.”

Approvals showing different patterns at the moment. We have nominations and visas approval from June and August. If you have any thoughts or know something please share it. Immi processing applications differently? Base on occupations? organisation? Applications assigned to different teams/CO?

I haven't seen any nominations approved in June.

However, I have noticed a few in August and onward, random and fortunate they maybe, but  this coincides with the Skilling Australia Fund (SAF) being introduced.

I think this means that Training Benchmarks are no longer required for Nominations, meaning that the paperwork is more streamlined and easier to process.

Got my Grant today.  Good luck all.  I think having to pay the SAF Levy (required for applications submitted from mid-August 2018) has made the processing faster.

That would make sense, as the training bench mark will not be applicable to your Nomination I guess. Makes the Nominations more streamlined and easier to process.

However, they should be doing it in order of submission, just going to cause more of a drag.

    Congrats anyhow! All the best

No its a very small firm - only 3 of us in the office!

And I did the application by myself with my boss... I FEEL SO ALIVE!

Out of interest, was this the first 186 Nomination in the company?

Reason I ask, is my manager was our first in the  business, and his PR was approved within 3 months, everyone else over 8 months.. Curious if there's a link between first nominations being solicited by a separate IMMI team.
