  1. Hi all, i want to appy for ict customer support officer skills assessment from TRA. My education qualification is bachelors in electrical technology. Has anyone got positive assessment from tra with similar qualification which is not so relevant to the occupation? Pls share ur experiences

  2. Hi guys, sorry, lil bit off thd topic..can anyone explain what does this mean?

Occupation is listed as special conditions apply and also additional requirements mentioned. Does iut nean we hv to take the intersection of these 2 categories?i.e nt available for highpoints,nt available for chain migration, only available for SA graduates?

Additional RequirementsSkills Assessment Authority261313Software EngineerProficient English (or Proficient Plus overall); Offshore applicants Provisional 489 visa only; Not available for high points nomination 6/7/18; Not available for chain migration nomination 6/7/18

  3. Earlier when  they wanted to  make changes to  457 work visa , they totally abolished it and brought a new visa in its place with those new changes.existing 457 holders were not affected by those changes. Hopefully if 5 yr rule is mandated for provisional visas in future, they might abolish the existing 489 and bring anotherr xxxx visa which do not impact existing visa holders. But there is news that this change cud bee introduced in 2019-2020

Hello all, i am about to submit SA 489 application. I am realising tht positions in acs letter, service letter/payslips/tax statements are different. Wat shud i do now?

As long as the job title in the ACS assesment and the title in the skilled occupation list match you will be fine.

Ya they match. But i am seeing discrepancy about the positions held. I got positive skills asssssment for software engineer. But the position is written as senior test analyst where as my  payslips/service letters, etc have test analyst as position. Wat do u suggest? Do i need to re do skills assessment?

Is it mandatory to submit same proofs to SA that we subkitted during ACS? I mean same stat decs, etc

Hi everyone, I'll add to the forum knowledge as well.
After receiving my TRA successful assessment and SA state sponsorship in February 2018, here is what happened since:

    • March 6th: application lodged (for me, wife, 6y old daughter)
    • April 10th: officer was allocated, med checks requested.
    • May 1st: med check results submitted.
    • Aug 28: additional details requested, including form 80 to be filled in. Time to send documents: 28 days.
    • Sept 2nd: all documents sent.
    • Sept 21: confirmation received from officer, no other documents are required. The status changed to "This application is currently being assessed. The department may contact the applicant if further supporting documentation is required".
    • Nov 20 (today): 2 months later, I'm getting really impatient drinking-wine.gif although I know they are doing the best they can, having an avalanche of applications to go through.

I remember couple of months back reading about the processing times for the 489 state nominated visas being advertised as 10-15 months, then 8-11 months (90% - 75%). Today I can only find this information related to 489:

489 - Skilled Regional Sponsored (Provisional) (subclass 489) Skilled Regional Unavailable due to low volume of applications.

Hang in there, its hard for them too, not just for us.

Very informative.my eoi and acs results will expire in another 1 yr. Can acs result expire after weget invite?

  6. Hello all, i am in a typical situation. In my prev company, i worked under 4 different team leads. Oneof them has privided me a stat dec with my roles and responsibilities. This is the only one holding meup. Can someone experienced advise on the same pls.

As long as you pass the skills assessment you can apply under anything.

I first went as a Network Engineer. But they increased the points to 80 and I only had 70. However Network Administrator is 70 so I went for that instead. I just needed a new assessment.

Hi @JetBlast, how about your salary proofs and jobtitle mentioned in employer certs? They would have been different from the occupation you are claiming points from?still no ptoblem?

  8. I have worked as software tester and successfully got ACS for software engineer (261313)because one of the employer certificate lists my roles and responsibilities as a software engineer and for another company, i submitted a stat dec with sw engineer roles and responsibilitiest.now i am submitting the same proofs for 489 visa also.but the job title printed on payslips and tax forms is not the same as the occupation i am applying for now.

I have read inthis thread that someone got the invite with a different skill assessment too. Please suggest if i need to produce any other proofs with respect to 489 SA visa too.

    HI Hi@ma!

The link you've shared is for the state nomination, so no police checks or health checks are required at that stage. You don't need them for the EOI either.

We're talking about the visa application once the state nomination has been granted. There are no guarantees or "fast tracks" but what we're discussing is that most applications seem to be picked up by the Australian government after about 3 months. If all documents are uploaded (including the health and police checks and relevant forms), then there is the POSSIBILITY of getting a direct grant. This is where you get the visa grant without being asked for any extra documents or clarifications if everything is in order and the case office has no further questions or needs extra evidence. If this happens, it's possible to get a visa within 3 months instead of waiting the 8-11 months that was last advertised on the immi website (if you check today it's saying low volume of applications but this is just because they've upgraded their website and it's not pulling through all the data yet)

Just be absolutely clear though, there is no guaranteed way of making sure you get a direct grant. But one thing that helps is getting your police and health checks done before the case office looks at your visa application for the first time. You can choose to "front load" (do all health and police checks prior to applying for the visa) or apply for the visa and then get the health and police checks done between the application date and when the case officer first picks up your application.

The other option is waiting for the case officer to pick it up, then they ask you to upload the outstanding documents and get the checks done after they've asked for them. In this circumstance, you won't get a direct grant and it'll take longer to get the visa granted.

However (sorry for the long message), there is one main downside of front loading the police and health checks: you have to enter Australia within 12 months of the date of the earliest of these two. If you front loaded the checks, applied for the visa and then it took 9 months to come through. You would only have a few months to get to Australia to validate the visa. Some people get around this by doing a "validation trip" where they don't actually emigrate but they do a short holiday to make sure they get the visa within the 12 months and then go back to their country to finish off selling their house, shipping their stuff, leaving their job etc.

I'm not a migration agent but this is my understanding based on my conversations with my agent and many others on this forum.

    Hope this helps 🙂

    Jon

Thanks a ton! You cleared all my unasked questions as well.validation trip before12 months validity of those certificates is a new poiht to me as well. Thanks Jon😀

  10. Hello everyone, can someone tell me ehat is this health check froentloading/submission means?while lodging 489 application in https://apply.migration.sa.gov.au/user/login.php , there is no field tgat prompts for health check or PCC.

Did u mean uploading those docsi. Skillselect application even before invite is issued?

Iftgereisanyway we can fast track the application withthese two docs, pls let me know

  11. I think it is taking name and email id provided during registration.but during registration it is prompting first name and family names only. The first name provided during registration to SA immigration website is appearing as given name in thd visa form.

Whoever got invote recently, did u all face the same scenario while submitting nomination application?

I was under the same impression as you that police checks, health checks and form 80 tend to be requested by the case officer a bit further into the process - I'm nit quite at that point yet but when you log into your immi account, it tells you there is a fault with these on the system and to ignore it, perhaps that is the problem?! if so the maintenance is scheduled for the next few days.

let us know if you manage to sort it, and Ill let you know if I have the same problem, when I get to that point later

Was ot asking for police checks during the nomination submission stage itself?
